Rays Shave Heads for Charity
MLB Clubs and players do whatever they can to benefit cancer research and bring smiles to patients around the country. From Kris Medlen shaving his head to the Twins wearing Stand Up to Cancer shirts, it’s great to see players getting involved for a good cause.
The Rays today continued their annual tradition of shaving heads as a tribute to fighting cancer. Evan Longoria, Ben Zobrist, Matt Joyce and Joe Maddon, among others, sat down for a shave, with all proceeds from the event going to Pediatric Cancer Foundation's Cut for A Cure.
Wil Myers decided against shaving his famous locks, but he donated $500 to the cause and recruited five fans for a shave:
