World Series MVP Pablo Sandoval broke open a tight contest with a three-run homer in the fourth inning as the Navegantes forced a decisive seventh game in the Championship Series.

Minor League veteran Mario Lisson also slugged a three-run blast and Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus had the other RBI for Magallanes, which hosts the finale on Wednesday night.

Gustavo Chacin recorded his third postseason win, limiting the Cardenales to two runs on three hits over five innings. The former Major Leaguer struck out four batters and walked two.

Cubs infielder Luis Valbuena ripped a solo shot and Ernesto Mejia doubled twice for Lara. Former Yankees farmhand Maximo Nelson lasted 3 2/3 innings for the Cardenales and was charged with six runs on five hits. Box score
