Start times announced for potential Tiebreaker Games, 2014 Wild Card Games presented by Budweiser

Postseason Begins with AL Wild Card Game on Tues., Sept. 30th at 8:07 p.m. (ET) on TBS;

NL Wild Card Game to Follow on Wed., Oct. 1st at 8:07 p.m. (ET) on ESPN;

ESPN to Provide Exclusive Coverage of Potential Tiebreaker Games

Major League Baseball today announced the start times for any potential Tiebreaker Games to be played on Monday, September 29th, as well as the 2014 Wild Card Games presented by Budweiser. The American League Wild Card Game will launch the 2014 Postseason on Tuesday, September 30th at 8:07 p.m. (ET) on TBS, while the National League Wild Card Game will be played the following night on Wednesday, October 1st at 8:07 p.m. (ET) on ESPN.

Following Sunday's scheduled close to the regular season, any necessary Tiebreaker games would be played on Monday, and be broadcast exclusively by ESPN according to the following schedule:

Entering play today, the Kansas City Royals (88-73) and the Oakland Athletics (87-74) hold the two AL Wild Card spots, while the Seattle Mariners (86-75) remain in contention, 1.0 game behind the Athletics. The Royals trail the Detroit Tigers (89-72) by 1.0 game in the AL Central.

In the NL, the Wild Card matchup is assured of featuring the San Francisco Giants at the Pittsburgh Pirates or the St. Louis Cardinals. The Giants (87-74) entered play today 1.0 game behind Pittsburgh (88-73) atop the NL Wild Card standings, while the Pirates are 1.0 game behind the Cardinals (89-72) in the NL Central.
