Story, Tapia represent Rockies at Futures Game

DENVER -- Rockies prospects Trevor Story (U.S. Team) and Raimel Tapia (World Team) will represent the Colorado organization in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which will be held on July 12 at Great American Ball Park. Class A Advanced Modesto manager Fred Ocasio will serve on the World Team coaching staff as well.

Ranked as Colorado's 12th-best prospect, Story was the Rockies' first-round pick in 2011 and is currently hitting .286 (70-for-245) with 10 homers and 39 RBIs at Double-A New Britain. Story has played in 66 of the Rock Cats' 72 game, splitting time between shortstop (49 games), second base (11 games) and third base (five games).

Tapia, meanwhile, was signed on Nov. 29, 2010, as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic. He's currently hitting .307 (88-for-287) with seven homers and 41 RBIs at Modesto, and MLBPipeline.com ranks Tapia as the Rockies' sixth-best prospect and second-best outfield prospect.

Ocasio is in his first year as the Nuts manager and has spent 18 seasons in the Rockies organization.

The 17th annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game takes place at 1 p.m. MT on July 12, and it can be seen live on MLB Network and MLB.com, with Matt Vasgersian, Dan Plesac, Heidi Watney and Jonathan Mayo on the call. In addition, SiriusXM Radio will broadcast play-by-play coverage of the event live on MLB Network Radio (XM channel 89; Sirius channel 209). MLB.com will also provide complete coverage before, during and after the game.
