Umps shift duties after Hallion struck by foul

OAKLAND -- Crew chief Tom Hallion exited Wednesday's game between the A's and Rockies at the Coliseum in the first inning after taking a pitch to his face mask.

Umpire Alfonso Marquez, who began the game at first base, moved behind the plate in Hallion's place following a lengthy delay. Second-base umpire Dan Bellino moved to first, while Ryan Blakney maintained his post at third as part of the truncated crew.

Hallion was visibly shaken up after a foul ball off the bat of DJ LeMahieu struck him square on the mask. There was no immediate update on Hallion's status.
