Wright hopes to break non-postseason streak with Rays

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Non-roster invitee Jamey Wright is a 17-year Major League veteran who has never reached the postseason.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the right-hander is the only active player with at least 17 years in the Majors and no postseason appearances. The last two players to play this long without a postseason are infielder Damion Easley (17 years, 1992-2008) and right-hander Danny Darwin (21, 1978-98).

Should Wright break camp with the Rays, it would mark the sixth straight season he came to camp as a non-roster invitee and made the Opening Day roster.
