Was invited to spring training by the Giants as a minor league free agent acquisition. Was sent to Triple-A Fresno and eventually released without seeing game action.
Signed to a minor league contract by Colorado on 5/11 and spent the majority of the season at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Led the Pacific Coast League with 14 wins. The 14 wins were second-most in Colorado Springs history, trailing only Nate Minchey's 15 victories in 1997.
Made his major league debut on 8/22 vs. MON, working 2.0 innings while allowing a solo homer to Juan Rivera.
Surrendered at least one run in each of his four relief appearances for the Rockies.
Made his first major league start on 9/26 vs. STL, allowing five runs on nine hits with just one walk and eight strikeouts in a 9-3 loss.
Held Triple-A opponents to a .237 batting average while walking 17 and fanning 74 in 90.2 innings.
Was 11-0 with a 4.30 ERA in 16 relief outings at Colorado Springs. Posted a 3-2 record and 3.02 ERA in eight starts.

Went to Spring Training with Houston as non-roster invitee after signing as minor league free agent...was released March 29 and signed to minor league deal by Colorado...logged 2nd straight year at triple-A level, working for Colorado Springs...for 1st time in career, worked in relief for majority of campaign...was 8-4 with save and 3.55 ERA in 38 games (10 starts) for Sky Sox...posted impressive 3.47 ERA (19er, 49.1ip) over 28 relief appearances, while going 4-2 with save.
2002
Logged 1st full year at triple-A level with Iowa in Cubs chain...went 8-12 with 6.12 ERA in 28 games (27 starts), including 2 complete games...was 4th in Pacific Coast League with 133 strikeouts.
2001
Went 5-11 with 4.51 ERA in 28 games (27 starts) for double-A West Tennessee...tied for club lead in innings (159.2) and ranked 2nd in strikeouts (136).
2000
Earned 1st spot on Cubs' 40-man roster...continued road to recovery from 1999 right shoulder surgery, starting 16 games for West Tenn and going 7-5 with 3.10 ERA...also started 2 post season games for Southern League champion Diamond Jaxx.
1999
Was limited to just 20 games at West Tenn because of strained right shoulder, which necessitated surgery...went 3-8 with 5.99 ERA...did not pitch after July 23 due to injury...underwent surgery Oct. 6, procedure performed by Dr. Michael Schafer.

Pitched for 3 Cubs farm teams, single-A Rockford, single-A Daytona and West Tenn....combined to go 7-6 with 4.17 ERA in 22 games (21 starts).

Appeared in 26 games for Rockford and went 6-11 with 3 complete games and 4.45 ERA...1996...spent 1st professional season at rookie-league Ft. Myers, where he was 4-2 with 2.35 ERA in 11 games.
