In 1994 graduated from Plainville (CT) High School...in 1998 graduated with a degree in criminal justice from the University of Hartford, where was a 3-time All-Conference and All-New England selection...in 1998 at UH hit .451...established 9 offensive records at Hartford.

At Class A Pittsfield ranked third in the New York-Penn League in home runs (11)...led all Mets short-season players in homers.
1999
At Class A Columbia led the South Atlantic League in home runs (28) and ranked among the leaders in RBI (97, 2nd), extra-base hits (57, 4th), total bases (247, 5th) and slugging percentage (.508, 5th)...received the Doubleday Award as Columbia's Player of the Year.
2000
At Class A St. Lucie was a Florida State League All-Star and a Howe Sportsdata FSL Star of Stars...received the Doubleday Award as St. Lucie's Player of the Year...ranked among the FSL leaders in doubles (36, 2nd), total bases (256, 2nd), extra-base hits (61, 2nd) and home runs (25, 3rd).

Was the Mets' Minor League Player of the Year after combining to hit .290 with 38 doubles, 20hr and 78rbi at Class AA Binghamton and Class AAA Norfolk...anked fifth in the Eastern League in doubles (35).

Spent most of the season with the Indians' Class AAA affiliate in Buffalo and led the Bisons in HR (19) and RBI (66)...in his Major League debut made 18 apps during 3 stints with the Tribe...made his big league debut on 4/28 at Tex and collected his first career hit, a pinch-hit single off Hideki Irabu...for Cle made 10 starts at 1B, 2 starts at 3B and 1 start at DH...on 7/23 vs NYY had 3 hits and 2rbi...hit his first career home run in his final appearance of the season, on 9/29 off KC's Darrell May...while with Buffalo, on 6/13 at Syracuse produced 8rbi.

At Class AAA Pawtucket led all Red Sox minor league batters in homers (22) and ranked third in the International League.
2004
At Class AAA Pawtucket was the Red Sox' Minor League Player of the Year and an International League All- Star...led the IL in home runs (36), RBI (104), extra-base hits (80) and total bases (300) and ranked among the league leaders in doubles (43, 3rd), games (136, 4th) and runs (85, 4th)...tied Pawtucket's franchise record for HR and established new marks for RBI and doubles...his 80 extra-base hits were third-most in the minors...appeared in 1g for the Red Sox, on 8/18 vs Tor started at 3B...had been recalled on 8/17, when Kevin Youkilis and David McCarty were disabled...was optioned back to Pawtucket on 8/20, when Mark Bellhorn was reinstated from the DL...3 times for the PawSox hit 2 homers in a game...from 4/23-5/9 homered in 9 of the club's 15g (23rbi).

At Class AAA Durham ranked among the International League leaders in extra-base hits (63, 1st), home runs (29, 2nd), RBI (92, 2nd), total bases (253, 3rd) and doubles (32, 5th)...led all Devil Rays minor leaguers in homers, ranked second in the system in RBI and was third in doubles...appeared in 105g at 3B, 11g at 1B and his only career game at 2B.
