2005
The hard-throwing reliever spent the entire season with Triple-A Ottawa. He was 2-3 with a 3.77 ERA in 50 games. He allowed just 57 hits in 62 innings and just two homers.
2004
Was recalled from AAA Ottawa on May 27 and remained with the Orioles throughout the summer... Was optioned back to Ottawa on August 24 and finished the season there before being recalled again on September 7. Made his major league debut on May 31 at Boston, pitching 2.0 innings...Retired the first 3 batters he faced, striking out David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez, and stranding 2 runners...Allowed a solo home run to Kevin Millar in his 2nd inning of work. Allowed 2 inherited runs to score on a pair of wild pitches, but pitched 1.2 innings of one-hit relief on June 9 vs. Arizona. In his first 13 games through July 2, pitched to a 2.18 ERA (21.2IP, 5ER)...Did not allow more than one run in any outing. Capped that span with his first big league win and only decision on July 2 at Philadelphia...Pitched 3.0 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and 5 walks with a season-best 4 strikeouts in the Orioles' 7-6 win in 16 innings. Was scored upon in 8 of his next 13 appearances, allowing 18 earned runs in 20.2 innings (7.84 ERA) before being optioned to Ottawa on August 24. Yielded a season-high 5 runs, including a grand slam to Chris Woodward, in 2.0 innings vs. Toronto on August 20 Following his September call-up, retired 6 of the 7 batters he faced in 3 appearances (2.0IP, 1BB walk). Retired the only batter he faced on September 12 vs. New York to leave the bases loaded and retired both batters faced on October 2 vs. Boston to strand 2 inherited runners. Began the season at Ottawa and went 1-0 with 3 saves and a 4.55 ERA (27.2IP, 14ER) in 24 relief outings before being recalled by the Orioles in May...Appeared in 5 games after being optioned back in September, allowing 4 runs in 4.0 innings. Was credited with his only win and decision at Ottawa with 2.2 innings of perfect relief on April 22 at Syracuse...Entered with a 5-4 lead in the 5th inning. Earned all 3 of his saves in a span of 5 appearances, May 16-25. Pitched for the Licey Tigers in the Dominican Winter League...Went 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA in 13 games.
2003
Spent the season at AA Bowie and tied for the Eastern League lead with 56 games pitched...Also tied for 2nd with 43 games finished...Opponents batted just .188 off him (49-261), the 4th lowest average in the Eastern League...Was 2-1 with one save and a 4.56 ERA in 14 games through May 11...Allowed runs in only 4 games, but allowed 4 runs twice and 3 runs over 2.0 IP on May 11 vs. Reading...Followed that outing with 11 straight scoreless outings, spanning 13.2 IP, May 13 through June 10...Allowed earned runs in only 5 of 42 games beginning May 13 through season's end...Worked to a 1.28 ERA from May 13 to the end of the season (49.1IP, 7ER)...After pitching to a 4.70 ERA in April, posted a 2.12 ERA in May, 1.84 June, 1.93 in July and 0.75 in August...Earned one win and 4 saves in 7 consecutive scoreless outings, June 26 through July 13...Allowed a run on August 1 vs. New Britain, then was not scored upon in his final 10 outings of the season, spanning 11.0 IP...10 of his 13 saves came in July and August...Pitched for Licey in Venezuelan Winter League following the season...Was 0-0 with a 10.29 ERA in 8 relief appearances.
2002
Spent most of the season at Class A Frederick and tied for 5th in the Carolina League with 11 saves...Struck out at least one batter in 32 of his 38 appearances with the Keys...Held opponents to a .169 average as right-handed batters hit .133 (12-90) off him...Opponents batted .128 (6-47) with runners in scoring position off him...Finished 10 straight appearances and did not allow a run during that time (12.2IP), collecting 7 saves...Did not allow a run over 8 straight outings (10.1IP), 6/14-7/19, record- ing 3 saves...Made one appearance at AA Bowie in May and allowed 5 earned runs in 1.2 innings...Was transferred to Bowie again in late August and did not allow a run in 5 outings (6.1IP).
2001
Began season at Class A Delmarva and finished 3rd on the club with 41 appearances...After allowing runs in his first game of the season, surrendered just one earned run over his next 14 appearances (22.2IP)...Struck out 22 batters over a 13-inning span, 6/28-7/17...Went 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA over 8 outings, 7/20-8/18...Transferred to Bowie on 8/20 and struck out at least 2 batters in 4 of his 5 appearances with the Baysox, earning a win and two saves.
2000
Spent most of the season at Gulf Coast, holding opponents to a .185 average in 27 innings...Struck out at least one batter in 14 of his 18 appearances at Gulf Coast, including a seasonhigh 5 in 2.0 hitless innings of relief on 8/18...Transferred to Delmarva in late August and made 4 appearances with the Shorebirds.
