Eliezer Vicente Alfonzo…son of former Major Leaguer Eliezer Jesus Alfonzo, who played with San Francisco (2006-08), San Diego (2009), Seattle (2010) and Colorado (2011)…has played professionally in the Dominican Summer League, Minor League Baseball and Venezuelan Winter League.

2025

Garnered a non-roster invite to Spring Training with the Detroit Tigers for the second season in a row...Saw his first action in Triple-A with Toledo to begin the year, starting seven games at catcher while logging 58.2 innings…did not commit an error...Played in 57 games with Double-A Erie following April 15 assignment there…produced a .289 average against righties (48-for-166) and .131 average against lefties (8-for-61) while batting .300 with 30 RBI while runners were in scoring position...Slashed .298/.372/.415 in 234 at-bats in the Venezuelan Winter League.

2023

Spent most of the 2023 season with Single A West Michigan...Posted a 13-game hitting streak from Aug. 10-27, hitting .333/.397/.392 with three doubles and eight RBI...Finished a triple shy of the cycle on Sept. 3 at Lansing, going 4x4 with four runs scored, a double, a home run and two RBI...Was promoted to Double A Erie at the end of the season, playing in two games with the SeaWolves.

2022

Limited to 21 games in 2022 after missing most of the season with an injury...Sidelined from April 11-May 8 with a right thigh strain...Reached base in all five plate appearances with Single A West Michigan on June 28 vs. Fort Wayne, going 4-for-4 with a walk...On the injured list from July 2-November 7 with a right elbow fracture...Ranked as the No. 30 prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America following the season.

2021

Split the 2021 season between Single A Lakeland and Single A West Michigan...Named a Tigers Organization All-Star by MiLB.com...Belted a pair of home runs and drove in five on July 10 vs. Palm Beach...also had a two-homer game on August 5 vs. Daytona...Earned Florida State League Player of the Week honors for the week ending August 15, going 9-for-26 with three doubles, one triple and seven RBI...Ranked as the No. 25 prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America following the season.
