Spent the entire campaign with Triple-A Jacksonville, going 8-6 with a 3.04 ERA (23 ER/68.0 IP) in 44 games (one start). Held opponents to a .212 AVG (54-for-255)...Led Jumbo Shrimp relievers in innings pitched, strikeouts and appearances (43)...Among International League relievers (min. 65.0 IP), ranked first in ERA and second in WHIP (1.13, min. 65.0 IP). Also ranked ninth in innings pitched (66.2 IP) and 16th in strikeouts...Converted four saves in four opportunities...Worked more than one inning in 23 of 44 appearances...Struck out a season-high six batters in two innings pitched (faced eight batters) on June 21 at Memphis. Matched his career-high in strikeouts done twice previously...In a 14-game stretch from June 2-July 30, went 3-1 with a 0.74 ERA (2 ER/24.1 IP), six walks, and 30 strikeouts. Luarbert Arias combined to go 4-2 with a 1.84 ERA (12 ER/58.2 IP) over 39 relief appearances in two levels within the Miami Minor League system last season (Double-A Pensacola and High-A Beloit). Spent the majority of the campaign at High-A Beloit, where he posted a 2-1 record, one save, and a 1.93 ERA (eight ER/37.1 IP). He averaged 11.8 strikeouts per 9.0 innings pitched (49 SO) against 12 walks. Promoted to Double-A Pensacola on July 28 until the end of the season. Went on to post a 2-1 record with four saves and a 1.69 ERA (four ER/21.1 IP) in 14 relief appearances. Struck out 29 batters of the 80 that he faced at the Double-A level, allowing only three walks. Went 5-for-6 in save opportunities after not having recorded a save in two previous save chances.
