Douglas Samuel Nikhazy...2018 graduate of West Orange High School (Winter Garden, Fla.) before attending the University of Mississippi, where he posted a three-year mark of 24-6 with a 2.81 ERA in 40 games/33 starts (204.2 IP, 149 H, 64 ER, 259 K).

2025

Saw his first Major League action in 2025, but spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Columbus, going 5-7 with a 5.02 ERA (48 ER/86.0 IP) in 21 appearances (19 starts) for the Clippers…Made his Major League debut in Game 2 of a doubleheader on April 26 in a spot start vs. Boston (3 IP, five H, six R/ER, six BB, three K)...His six walks tied a club season-high by a starter (struck out first batter faced: Jarren Duran)...Worked a scoreless ninth inning of relief on July 4 vs. Detroit in his other outing...Was in the Majors four total days in three total stints (also May 21 as 27th player)...Ranked among the Clippers' team leaders in starts (19, third), wins (five, tied for third), strikeouts (87, fifth) and innings pitched (86.0, sixth)...Was placed on the seven-day injured list with left elbow impingement on July 30, missing the month of August (July 30-Sept. 5)...Posted a Triple-A June ERA of 2.89 in five starts (nine ER/28.0 IP/32 K) and had a 2.25 ERA in four games (two starts) following Sept. activation (8.0 IP, seven H, two ER, nine K)...Found success as a reliever in 2025, posting a 1.50 ERA (one ER/6.0 IP) in three relief outings at both the Triple-A and Major League levels…Opponents hit .182 (4-for-22) against Nikhazy coming out of the bullpen.

Split the season between AA Akron and AAA Columbus, his first taste of the Triple-A level...His season ERA of 2.98 was sixth-lowest in the Guardians system as his 124K were 7th-most (.192 average against, second-lowest)…Started the year in Akron, missing three weeks from Apr. 12-May 4 with a left oblique strain (did not allow a run over first two starts prior, 10IP, 1H, 13K)…Did not allow a run over his first 19.0 innings into the second inning of his May 22 start vs. Harrisburg...Promoted to Columbus on June 24...Promptly spun 20.0 consecutive scoreless innings to start his Clippers tenure, including 7.0 shutout IP over 2 hits in his AAA debut of June 28 vs. Omaha (CG/SHO, G2 DH)…Over his last six games/5GS in Columbus, he went 3-1 with a 1.59 ERA (34.0IP, 22H, 6ER, 14BB, 29SO)…Fanned 10 in his lone playoff start of Sept. 24 at Omaha (5.2IP, 4H, 1R)…Following his June 24 promotion, ranked second among International League pitchers in ERA (2.87), third in SO (75), fifth in IP (75.1) and posted the lowest average against (.195)… On the year, LHH and RHH posted identical OPS' (.605) and batters hit just .177 (28-for-158) off him with men on...Started the "Spring Breakout" game vs. the Reds on March 16 in Goodyear (3.0IP, 3H, 2R/1ER, 6K).

Finished with the fourth-most strikeouts among organizational pitchers (128) while also ranking eighth among Eastern League pitchers...Recorded three double-digit strikeout games...Entered final relief outing of season with a 4.44 ERA before allowing six runs/six ER in 0.2IP on 9/13 vs. Altoona...ERA thru 7/27 was 3.29 over first 18G/15GS (76.2IP, 55H, 28ER, 95K, 3rd-lowest ERA in EL).

2022

Began professional career, spending most of the season at High-A Lake County before a late season promotion to AA Akron...Promoted to Akron on 8/30; was T9th in the Midwest League in SO at time of promotion...Combined on year posted a 3.96 ERA in 24 starts.
