MINORS IN 2021: Combined to go 3-1 with a 1.66 ERA (12 ER/65.0 IP), 10.5 SO/9, 3.7 BB/9, .175/.275/.283/.557 opp. slash, and 1.015 WHIP figure in 16 games/10 starts during a breakout season for Round Rock (AAA) and Frisco (AA), his first career action above High-A…his 1.66 ERA ranked 2nd in the minor leagues (min. 65 IP) at time of his MLB promotion…began year w/ Frisco (3-1, 1.61 in 13 G/7 GS) and was promoted to Round Rock on 8/2 (0-0, 1.84 in 3 G/GS)…entered year rated as Rangers’ no. 25 prospect by Baseball America.
Alexy opened spring training in minor league camp and did not see official game action due to the cancellation of the minor league season…he remained in Arizona for much of the summer and though he was never a member of the Rangers’ 60-man Player Pool, Alexy logged 5.0 SHO IP in the Fall Developmental League, striking out nine of 14 batters faced… contract was selected to the Major League roster on 11/20.
