Aaron resides in Barstow, Calif., where he was the first MLB player to be born from...After his debut and successful first season, Barstow City Council declared Oct. 20, 2014, to be “Aaron Sanchez Day”...Aaron’s stepfather, Mike Shipley, was drafted in the fourth round of the 1976 MLB Draft by the Angels...Sanchez has pitched in parts of 12 Minor League seasons since 2010, combining to go 30-41 with a 4.53 ERA (312 ER in 619.2 IP) and 539 strikeouts in 159 games (139 starts)...Was named to the Arizona Fall League Rising Stars team in 2013 after he registered a 1.16 ERA (three ER in 23.1 IP) over six starts for Salt River...Was named a Midwest League Mid-Season All-Star in 2012.

After more than a full calendar year away from baseball, Sanchez returned in 2025 with eight starts in the Dominican Winter League’s Toros del Este and went 4-2 with a 1.55 ERA (8 ER in 46.1 IP) with 34 strikeouts to just nine walks (3.8 K/BB), and won the Dominican Winter League Cy Young Award...All eight of his starts were at least five innings and he never allowed more than two earned runs in a start...Made his Toros debut on Oct. 19 vs. the Leones del Escogido and earned the win with five innings of one-hit, shutout ball and seven strikeouts...the lineup he opposed featured current and former big leaguers Junior Lake, Alexander Canario, Sócrates Brito, Yamaico Navarro, Jonathan Araúz, Zoilo Almonte, Erik González and Martín Maldonado...On Oct. 28, he worked six innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts vs. Licey, whose lineup featured Major League alumni Jordan Lawlar, Francisco Mejía, Cristhian Adames, Liover Peguero, Sergio Alcántara, Domingo Leyba and Christian Bethancourt...Had three consecutive quality starts from Nov. 2-13, and combined to allow just four runs (two ER) over 18 innings pitched (1.00 ERA) with 13 strikeouts...Finished his time in the Dominican Republic on Nov. 30 with a season-long seven innings vs. the Águilas Cibaeñas, against whom he permitted three runs (two ER) on seven hits and one walk...their lineup included MLB alums Leody Taveras, Juan Lagares, Wilmer Difo and José Rodríguez, as well as fellow Royals non-roster invitee Elih Marrero, son of Eli Marrero who played 10 Major League seasons from 1997-2006.

Started the season in the Blue Jays rotation…Went on the disabled list June 15 with a right lat strain…Following his return in July was moved to the bullpen...In his 11 starts went 5-4 with a 3.55 ERA...Walked 37 in 66 IP for a 5.1 BB/9 total, which was highest in MLB at time of his final start...After moving to the bullpen posted a 2.39 ERA (7ER/26.1 IP) while holding the opposition to a .178 average (16-90)...Allowed 5-ER over his final nine games (7.0 IP) - more than he had given up over his previous 20 relief outings (2ER/18.2IP)… Over those 7.0 IP he walked four batters with an opposition average of .310 (9-29)...Posted a 2.39 BB/9 as a reliever after having a 5.1 BB/9 as a starter...Suffered his 5th loss of the season (1st as a reliever) after surrendering a 3R-HR in the 8th on August 14 vs. NYY…Was the first HR he had allowed in relief since Aug. 5, 2014 vs. BAL...Was ejected for the first time in his career after hitting A.
