Made his ML debut July 8 @TOR after having his contract selected from Norfolk earlier that day...Allowed a hit and hit a batter in his debut without recording an out...Recorded his first ML win vs. CWS in a game that was suspended on April 28 in Chicago (while Castillo was with Triple-A Norfolk) and finished August 25 at Camden Yards...The suspended game makes it appear that Castillo's major league debut occurred on April 28, when in fact it took place July 8, yet he is credited with a win for the game on April 28...Worked a career-high 2.1 IP August 6 @LAA...Struck out a career-best three batters on July 30 @ NYY, August 11 @CLE and September 23 vs. TB...Fanned Kevin Cash on July 12 at Fenway Park for his 1st ML strikeout... Left-handed batters hit .256 (10-39) and right-handed batters hit .262 (17-65) against Castillo, while opponents hit just .189 (10-53) against him in Baltimore and .333 (17-51) on the road...Had a 2.35 ERA in day games and a 4.42 ERA in night games.
