Graduated from Halifax County High School (South Boston, Va.), the same school attended by All Elite Wrestling world champion "Hangman" Adam Page and Major League pitcher Jeremy Jeffress...was named 2017 Gatorade Virginia Player of the Year...was a four-year member of the Halifax swim team...at the University of Virginia became only the second pitcher in school history to record at least 300 strikeouts...his 162 strikeouts in 2021 were second-most ever by a UVA pitcher in a single season...following that 2021 season was first team All-ACC and a consensus second team All-American...earned his degree in biology in just three years and then earned his master's degree.
