Graduated from Redmond (Wash.) High School in 1996, the same school that produced former Major Leaguer Tom Niedenfuer...was 6-2 with a 0.75 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 56.0 innings his senior season...was signed by scout Jerry Zimmerman (Orioles)...makes his off-season home in Redmond, Wash.
2006
Saw spot duty with the Cardinals while ranking tied for second in appearances at Memphis (AAA) with 47...Named to the Pacific Coast League All-Star team but opted not to attend the Triple-A All-Star Game at Toledo, OH...His 16 saves at Memphis ranked fifth in the PCL and were third-most among Cardinals minor leaguers...Was purchased by the Cardinals on 5/2 and suffered the loss that day at CIN...He allowed a run on two hits while hitting a batter in 0.2 innings pitched...Allowed one hit and fanned three in his final two Cardinals outings (2.2 IP) before being optioned to Memphis on 5/20...Posted decisions in 12 straight games at Memphis from 4/16 - 6/2 (2-W, 2-L, 8 SV), including saves in seven of eight outings...Allowed just one run in 11.0 IP (0.82 ERA) in the season's first month while fanning 15 and walking one. Went 2-0 with five saves and a 1.54 ERA in 11 June outings.
2005
Began the year with San Diego's Triple-A Portland club. He amassed a 3-4 record with one save in 28 games in relief...Was purchased from Portland by San Diego on 5/9 and pitched a perfect inning of relief that night at CIN...Pitched 2.0 innings allowing no runs and two hits on 7/8 at COL and was designated for assignment two days later...Appeared in 10 games for SD...Finished the season with Memphis, the Cardinals Triple-A affiliate, were he was used as a closer and picked up five saves and one win in just 13 appearances...Averaged almost one K per inning at Memphis, striking out 14 in 16.0 IP to go along with a 1.69 ERA.
2004
Started the season on 15-day disabled list with an injured right knee and made two rehabilitation appearances with Triple-A Las Vegas before being activated and joining the big league club on April 24...stayed with Dodgers until June 8 when he was optioned to Las Vegas, where he remained through the end of the season...in six relief appearances with the Dodgers, was 1-0 with a 7.53 ERA in 14 1/3 innings...in 18 games, including 15 starts, for Las Vegas, was 4-6 with one save and a 6.17 ERA in 89 innings of work.
2003
Pitched all season at Triple-A Tacoma in the Seattle organization and went 4-2 with a 2.94 ERA in 17 games (14 starts)...allowed just 66 hits and struck out 62 in 79.2 innings...pitched at least 5.0 innings in his first 12 starts and allowed three earned runs or less in 12 of his 14 starts...was 4-0 with a 2.33 ERA in 10 road games and 0-2 with a 3.78 ERA in seven road appearances...allowed four hits or less in nine starts...held the opposition to a .221 batting average...went 3-2 with a 3.24 ERA as a starter and 1-0 without allowing a run in 7.1 innings in his three relief outings.
2002
Made just nine starts for Tacoma during the season due to shoulder injuries...struggled in his first four starts before tossing 7.0 shutout innings in a 6-1 win vs. Nashville on May 4...on the disabled list from May 6-June 10...reinstated on June 11...had a 0.42 ERA in four June starts (21.1 IP) before landing back on the disabled list with a dislocated right patela...placed on the DL on June 30 through the end of the year.
2001
Split the season between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A Tacoma, going 7- 10 with a 5.04 ERA in 20 starts...made his first start and allowed one run in 5.0 innings on April 24 vs. Wichita, after beginning the season on the disabled list...pitched a complete-game shutout in his next start on April 29 vs. Tulsa...promoted to Tacoma on June 28...won his only postseason start, pitching 6.0 shutout innings on Sept. 10 at Sacramento.
2000
Spent the entire season on the disabled list after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in March.
1999
Began the season pitching for Double-A Bowie and went 3-6 with a 3.78 ERA in 16 starts...the BaySox scored a total of six runs in his six losses...on the disabled list from June 8-Aug. 16 with a sore right elbow...made three rehabilitation appearances for the Gulf Coast Orioles before having his contract purchased by the Orioles on Oct. 1...made his Major League debut on Oct. 1 vs. Boston and pitched 2.0 scoreless innings in relief.
1998
Went 5-5 with a 4.50 ERA in 15 games (14 starts) at Single-A Frederick...on the DL from June 19-Aug. 17 with a sore right elbow.
1997
Had a strong season at Single-A Delmarva, which earned him a one-game promotion to Bowie at the end of the season.
1996
Began his professional career with the Gulf Coast League Orioles after being drafted in the second round...appeared in eight games and struck out 36 batters in 28.0 innings...promoted to Single-A High Desert and appeared in one game, pitching a scoreless inning.
