Christopher Scott Booker...makes offseason home in Monroeville, Ala. with wife Keidre and son Christopher (7/11/01)...graduated from Monroe County (Ala.) High School in 1995...in 2005, sister, Kewanna, was deployed in Iraq with the Army's 50th Signal Battalion.
2007
Appeared in 3 games July 21-25 during his lone stint with Washington...gave up a 2-run walk-off homer to Ryan Howard in the 14th inning July 25 at PHI...was optioned to Columbus following the game to make room for John Lannan, who would be making his major league debut the next day with a start in the series finale at PHI.
2006
Signed with the Nationals on November 3, 2005, and in the subsequent 8 months, was the property of 4 different organizations: PHI, DET, KCR and Washington...played for a seemingly unheard of 7 different clubs in 2006... returned to the Nationals organization in July per Rule 5 guidelines after being selected by DET in the minor league phase of the 2005 Rule 5 Draft...assigned to New Orleans upon being reacquired, and went 2-2 with a 3.94 ERA in 15 appearances before having his contract purchased September 2...tossed scoreless baseball in 8 of his 10 appearances in a Nationals uniform, stranding all 6 of his inherited runners...struck out 7 and walked only one in his 7.1 innings with Washington...was traded from DET to PHI the same day of the Rule 5 Draft...exited PHI Spring Training on the 15-Day Disabled List with left knee inflammation...was claimed off waivers by KCR on May 10...in one appearance with KCR, allowed 6 runs on 5 hits, including 3 home runs, in 1.0 inning May 13 at BAL...was placed on the 15-Day DL the next day with a strained right groin...reinstated from the 15-Day DL July 9 and designated for assignment that same day...was returned to the Nationals on July 14.
Game-By-Game Highlights: Picked up his first big league hold September 12 at ARI, recording the first 2 outs in the 8th inning before giving way to Chad Cordero, who closed out the 5-4 win.
In minor leagues: Tossed 9.1 straight scoreless innings July 28-August 15 with New Orleans...struck out 29 in just 16.0 innings of work with the Zephyrs, an average of 16.3 strikeouts per 9.0 innings...notched a 3.71 ERA (7 ER/17.0 IP) in a combined 12 rehab appearances with PHI's Single-A Clearwater club and Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre squad April 11-May 9...made a rehab assignment with Double-A Wichita and Triple-A Omaha, June 22-July 8.
