Attended San Benito High School in Hollister, CA (one hour south of San Jose)... Attended The Master's University (NAIA school in Santa Clarita, CA)...had a 2.47 ERA in 102 innings during his final season at The Master's in 2016...pitched in the 2016 NAIA World Series in Lewiston, ID... Rated the top prospect in the Alaska Baseball League (collegiate summer league) in 2015... Grandfather, Bill Plummer, played 10 years in the Majors with the Reds, Cubs and Mariners.

2020

Spent the majority of his season at the Giants' Alternate Training Site...Appeared in seven games in the big leagues and posted a 1-0 record with a 2.38 ERA (3er, 11.1ip)...Notched his first big league win in the Giants victory over Texas on July 31...Made his first career Opening Day roster and logged seven games out of the bullpen before being optioned to the Alternate Training Site on Aug. 12 where he spent the remainder of the season.

2019

Spent the majority of 2019 between Double-A Richmond and Triple-A Sacramento, combining for a 6-4 record and a 3.79 ERA (51er, 121.0ip) in 23 games (22 starts)...registered 154 strikeouts in 121.0 innings (11.45 SO/9).... Added to the Giants' 40-man roster in the winter, Menez had his contract purchased from Triple-A Sacramento on July 21, with the Giants hosting the Mets...made his Major League debut that day, starting in place of LHP Drew Pomeranz (moved to the bullpen)...the only other Giant who's made his Major League debut starting a game vs. the Mets was Paul McClellan on September 2, 1990...pitching in front of 60 family members and friends, the Hollister, CA native allowed two runs on three hits in 5.0 innings with six strikeouts and wound up with a no decision...was optioned back to triple-A following the start.... Recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on August 6 and started that night against the Nationals.... His third career start came on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball on August 11 vs. Philadelphia...recorded just five outs while allowing three runs on two hits with three walks and four strikeouts...was optioned to Triple-A post-game.... Recalled from Triple-A on September 1, marking his third callup in 2019...pitched exclusively out of the bullpen, tossing 4.1-scoreless innings over five outings.
