2013

Did not appear in a Major League game after having a pair of knee surgeries. Underwent surgery on March 6, performed by Dr. Evan Lederman and Dr. William Raasch on his right knee. Had season-ending surgery on July 3 to repair a chondral defect in his left knee, an injury suffered while rehabbing his right knee…surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Rehabbed during the off-season at the Fischer Institute of Physical Therapy & Performance in Phoenix, Ariz.

2012

Batted .270 with 30 HR and 83 RBI in 149 games ... made 146 starts (97g at 1B, 49g in RF). Notched his second career 30+ HR season (31 in 2010). Tied his career high with 91 runs scored (also 2010). Was among National League leaders in extra-base hits (T5th, 69) and home runs (T10th, 30). Prior to 2012 his only career games at first base came on 6/3/06 vs. Washington (start) and 6/20/06 vs. Detroit.
