Eric Joseph Stout...son of Michael and Elizabeth...has two siblings, Chris and Elise, as well as a dog named Bailey... enjoys listening to music by Kygo and his all-time favorite baseball player was Ken Griffey Jr...his favorite TV show is Friends and his favorite movie is Remember the Titans...roots for the Butler Bulldogs and the Chicago Bears... graduated from St. Francis High School (IL) in 2011…went 10-3 with a 1.61 ERA and 131 strikeouts during his senior season…also played two years of basketball in high school and was a state finalist in the IHSA three-point shooting championship...attended Butler University (IL), leading the Bulldogs in starts (13), IP (67.2) and SO (64) as a junior in 2014...was teammates with LHP Matt Strahm in the KC organization...originally signed by KC scout, Mike Farrell.

2018

Spent the majority of the season with Omaha (AAA) and made his ML debut with KC, making three appearances with the Royals... Made his ML debut in the seventh inning on 4/25 vs. MIL, working 0.2 innings and allowing two hits, two runs (one earned) and one walk...struck out Christian Yelich on three pitches...Prior to his debut, made five appearances with OMA, posting a 4.70 ERA (4 ER,7.2 IP) and holding opponents to a .214 clip...At the ML level, made three relief appearances in total, allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits with two HR, two BB and two SO...Posted a 3.38 SO/BB ratio with OMA, his best in a season since his 3.57 mark in 2015.

2017

Spent the entire season with Omaha (AAA)…made a career-high 45 appearances, including 44 of them out of the bullpen ... Posted a 5-2 mark with a 2.99 ERA (23 ER in 69.1 IP) with five saves in seven chances…ranked third among Pacific Coast League relievers with a .227 opponents' average (58-for-255), while he led the Storm Chasers in appearances and tied for 17th in the PCL ... Stranded 21 of his 24 inherited baserunners, including all 21 over his final 33 outings of the season ... Won his first five decisions of the year, posting a 2.41 ERA (15 ER in 56.0 IP) over his first 35 outings, through the end of July ... Pitched a career-high 3.2 innings of relief on June 23 vs. Memphis, allowing no runs on two hits with a walk and three strikeouts ... Held left-handed hitters to a .193 batting average (16-for-83), which included just five extra-base hits (.301 SLG)… also held opponents to a .157 average (11-for-70) with runners in scoring position.

2016

Spent all of 2016 at Northwest Arkansas (AA), tying for fifth in the Texas League in appearances (42) and tied for fourth in wins (6) among the league's relievers ... In 2016, held left-handed hitters to a .181 average (17-for-94) with just three extra-base hits (.245 SLG) ... Pitched for Surprise in the Arizona Fall League in 2016, posting a 2.77 ERA (4 ER in 13.0 IP) with six walks and 14 strikeouts in nine appearances.

2015

Made appearances at four different minor league levels in 2015, with a majority of the work at Lexington (A)… combined to go 0-1 with a 3.15 ERA in 20 outings.

2014

Tied for seventh among Pioneer League (Rookie) pitchers in wins (5) in 2014.
