Spent his fifth professional season in the Double-A Texas League, making 20 starts with the Padres affiliate in San Antonio and three starts with the A's affiliate in Midland before a right elbow strain ended his season early on Aug. 14…combined to go 5-3 with a 2.39 ERA and .558 opponents OPS in 23 starts overall...Was named to the Texas League Postseason All-Star Team and the Baseball America Double-A All-Star Team...His ERA, opponents' OPS, batting average (.203) and slugging percentage (.275) were the lowest in the Texas League among pitchers with 100 or more innings pitched…had the eighth lowest ERA among all Minor League pitchers, the 10th lowest slugging percentage, and 11th lowest OPS...Yielded just three home runs in 109.0 innings and his average of 0.25 home runs per nine innings was second lowest in the TL and 12th lowest in the Majors…has allowed just 18 home runs in 400.1 career innings in the Minors (0.40 per nine innings)...Also ranked third in the TL in on-base percentage (.283), seventh in fewest pitches per inning (15.5), ninth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.86), tied for ninth in games started and 10th in fewest walks per nine innings (2.89)...Posted career lows in ERA, opponents batting, on-base percentage, slugging, OPS and a career high in strikeout-to-walk ratio…hit a career-high tying nine batters...Went 0-1 with a 4.05 ERA over his first six starts with San Antonio through May 4 and 4-1 with a 1.16 ERA over his final 14 starts with the Missions…then went 1-1 with a 5.84 ERA in three starts with Midland...His opponents' batting average broke down to .178 (40-for-225) with a .470 OPS against right-handed hitters and .238 (39-for-164) with a .679 OPS against left-handers…surrendered just one home run in 225 at-bats against righties...Allowed a .186 batting average with runners in scoring position...Had a .181 opponents batting average and all three of his home runs the first time through the batting order…yielded a .210 average the second time through the order and .260 the third...Combined to go 3-2 with a 2.97 ERA in 14 starts in his home ballparks…was 2-1 with a 1.37 ERA in nine starts on the road...Was 3-1 with a 1.47 ERA in 15 starts on five days' rest, 2-2 with a 4.33 ERA in his other eight starts. Made 26 starts between High-A Fort Wayne and Double-A San Antonio in his fourth professional season, going 7-4 with a 2.99 ERA (42 ER, 126.1 IP), .212 opponents’ AVG, 1.09 WHIP and 109 SO against 40 BB...Worked exclusively as a starter for the first time in his career…his ERA sat at a season-high 5.04 across his first eight starts following his May 24 start vs. Lansing...Across his next nine starts from May 26-July 21, he went 2-1 a 1.57 ERA and .156 opponents’ AVG…completed at least 7.0 frames for the second and third times in his career on June 28 vs. Dayton and July 12 at Great Lakes...Struck out a career-high 10 batters against no walks on July 5 vs. Lansing...Earned Midwest Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of July 14 following the July 12 start at Great Lakes, tossing 7.0 no-hit innings in what would be his penultimate start for the TinCaps...Promoted to SA on July 23 after posting a 2.95 ERA over 76.1 IP at FW…went on to manage a 5-1 record and was quality in 5 of his nine starts with the Missions, along with a 3.06 ERA (17 ER, 50.0 IP),...Was two outs shy (5.1 IP) of a quality start in his Double-A debut on July 27 @ Midland before rattling off three consecutive quality outings Aug 2-14...Earned the win and completed 5.0 frames on two ER and 6 hits allowed in his next start Aug. 20 at Frisco, resulting in a 3-0 record, 2.22 ERA (7 ER, 28.1 IP) and a .219 opponents’ AVG across his first five career Double-A starts.
2023
Made his full-season debut with Single-A Lake Elsinore and posted the California League’s third-best ERA (min. 80 IP) with a 3.24 mark over 83.1 frames...Tossed a career-high 7.2 IP and allowed just 2 hits on Aug. 3 at Modesto but was tagged with the loss in the Storm’s 1-0 defeat...Earned a late season promotion to High-A FW on Aug. 15, where he posted a 7.20 ERA (12 ER, 15.0 IP) across 4 starts...Was not added to SD’s 40-man roster in his first offseason of Rule 5 eligibility.
2022
Made his stateside debut in 2022 with the Arizona Complex League Padres and struck out 41 in 30.2 IP in 9 appearances (7 starts)…allowed a combined 7 ER across his first 2 outings before allowing 2 ER-or-fewer (1.95 ERA) across each of his final 7 outings (5 starts).
2021
Spent that entire 2021 campaign with the Dominican Summer League Padres, striking out 37 in 36.0 IP in his 12 appearances (10 starts).
