Full name JEAN CARLOS MEJĺA...Married, Yalimar Rivera...Grew up a Cleveland fan, always chose to be Cleveland in local pickup games...First player from his pueblo (Gaspar Hernández) to make a 40-man roster.

2020

Spent entirety of the 2020 season at the Lake County Alternate Training Site...During the 2020 Spring Training in AZ he posted a 5.40 ERA in 4 outings/1 start (5.0IP, 4H, 3R/ER, 3BB, 7SO)...Posted a 1.64 ERA in 4 games/2 starts for Licey in the Dominican Winter League after the season (11.0IP, 10H, 2ER, 9SO).

2019

Was limited to just eight starts on the year due to a pelvic and core-muscle injuries,which eventually required season-ending surgery and ended his campaign on June 7...Was also on the Injured List, April 17-May 14, with a hip strain...Had surgery on June 24 in Cleveland to repair a sports hernia...Did not allow a run over his last two starts (7.0IP)... Went 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in three April starts (16.0IP, 9H, 4ER, 21SO)...Right-handed batters hit .177 (14-for-79) with a .441 OPS allowed.

2018

Spent most of the season at Class-A Lake County, missing six weeks with right elbow inflammation, April 19-June 6...Fanned 10 batters over consecutive starts, July 25-30, and recorded back-to-back 7.0-inning, scoreless starts in those outings...Went 3-2 with a 2.19 ERA in six July starts (37.0IP, 24H, 9ER, 5BB, 45SO)...On the year right-handed batters hit .200 (44-for-220) off him with one home run and a .520 OPS...Promoted to Lynchburg, Sept. 1, for his final start of the season...Added to the 40-man roster on Nov. 20.

2017

Led the AZL Indians and finished third in Arizona League with six saves...Made 11 scoreless appearances for Mahoning Valley, striking out 31 batters in 22.2 innings of work (12.3 K-per-9.0IP)...Combined on the year he posted a 1.22 ERA in 21 games (5ER/37.0IP/50SO).
