Made Pittsburgh's Opening Day roster for the second straight season...Made his season debut in the fourth game on 3/31 at Miami and went 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI...Was placed on the 10-day injured list on 4/3 (retro to 4/1) with right knee inflammation...Underwent meniscal debridement knee surgery on 4/17...Was transferred to the 60-day I.L. on 5/10...Began a rehab assignment with Bradenton on 5/25... Spent entire season with Double-A Altoona, where he was selected to the Eastern League mid-season All-Star team...Set minor league career highs in home runs, RBI and OPS...Made 66 starts behind the plate and threw out 17 of the 71 baserunners attempting to steal against him (24%)...Hit .489 (23-for-47) with four home runs and 16 RBI while hitting safely in 11 of his 13 games from 4/23 thru 5/19...Produced a .339 (20-for-59) batting average in 16 games during the month of May...Picked up his second career triple on 5/4 at Richmond...Swiped his lone base (third career) on 6/26 at Richmond...Homered twice and collected a minor league career-high five RBI on 8/21 vs. Hartford.
