Reached the 20-start plateau for the 4th consecutive season, spending the entire season with El Paso (AAA) and ranking among Triple-A West league leaders in strikeouts (103) and starts (20)... Earned the winning decision in both of his first two starts with a 0.77 ERA (1 ER, 11.2 IP)...went 0-6 with a 6.94 ERA (28 ER, 36.1 IP) over his next 9 appearances (8 starts) from May 21-July 2, with the Chihuahuas coming up on the losing end in all nine of those outings... His 3rd and final win came on July 8 vs. Oklahoma City before going 0-4 with a 4.25 ERA (23 ER, 48.2 IP) over his final 9 starts... Surpassed 500.0 career minor league innings on July 13 vs. Oklahoma City...he struck out a season-high 9 in the contest, one shy of Adrian Martinez's 10 for the most by a Chihuahuas pitcher in 2021... Tossed his 2nd career complete game in his final start of the season on Sept. 29 at Oklahoma City...it was the only non-7 inning or rain-shortened complete game by a Chihuahua hurler in '21, and it also marked the first time an ELP pitcher was tagged with the loss in a complete-game performance in a regular 9-inning game in team history... only one other time has EP pitcher thrown a CG and been tagged with the loss, but it was Game 1 of a doubleheader and was only a 7-inning game, with Kyle Lloyd being tagged with the loss in a 7.0 IP CG at New Orleans on Aug. 6, 2017...the only other time in EP club history that a hurler had a CG in a regular 9-inning game was Luis Perdomo on May 4, 2018, at Albuquerque.
