Son of Thomas and Rose Miller. Has 2 younger siblings, Loren and Noah...Went to Ozaukee High School in Fredonia, Wisc., where he played baseball, football and basketball. He was a 1st-team all-conference selection in basketball his junior and senior years, and 2nd-team all-conference as a sophomore. Broke the school's scoring record with 1,115 career points and was named the baseball team's MVP and a 2nd-team all-conference selection as a freshman. Stopped playing basketball for Ozaukee after his freshman year to focus on travel baseball... Attended Illinois State University, where he majored in business administration. In his junior year, he was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team, First Team All-Region and Third Team All-American by ABCA/ Rawlings.
