Full name ROBINSON GARCIA TEJEDA (tuh-HAY-duh)....He and his wife, Eduvirgen Gonzalez, have 3 daughters; Mercedes Roselin, Rubi and Amber...Attended Liceo Club de Leones High School.
2011
Tejeda split 2011 between Kansas City and Triple-A Omaha and spent five weeks on the disabled list in April/May (4/14-5/19) with right shoulder inflammation...In nine relief outings with KC he posted an ERA of 6.14 (7.1IP, 12H, 5R/ER) before being designated for assignment (May 26) and later outrighted to Triple A Omaha (June 2)...Finished the season healthy at Omaha where he posted an ERA of 3.80 (31G, 45.0IP, 40H, 19ER, 43K)...Pitched for Este and Licey in the Dominican Winter League after the season (4.1IP, 1H, 0R for Licey)...In his career right-handed batters own a batting average of .221 (190-861).
2010
Robinson recovered from a tough start to the season to post solid numbers out of the pen as one of KC's primary set-up men...Was 1-2 with a 12.96 ERA (8.1 IP, 12 ER) over his first 10 outings of 2010, but was 2-3 with a 2.05 ERA (52.2 IP, 12 ER) over his final 44 outings...Was sidelined on August 1 (retroactive to July 30) with a right biceps tendon strain...activated from the D.L. on August 29.
2009
Posted 10.63 strikeouts per 9 innings, the second-best ratio in franchise history among pitchers with 50.0 or more innings in a season, trailing only teammate Joakim Soria, who averaged 11.72 strikeouts per 9 in 2009...Held opponents to a .167 batting average, the third-lowest in baseball among pitchers with at least 70.0 IP...Right-handed batters hit just .125 (16-for-128) against him, the lowest mark of any pitcher in baseball (min. 100 at bats from right-handers)...according to Elias, dating to August 31, right handed batters were a combined 0-for-43 against Tejeda, the longest streak of consecutive hitless at-bats by righthanded batters against any pitcher in 2009...the streak ended when Micheal Cuddyer homered in the fourth inning on September 25...Posted a 2.76 ERA in 16 road appearances, including 3 starts...held opponents to a .138 average on the road, the lowest mark in baseball among pitchers with at least 30.0 road innings...Allowed 4 home runs, which tied for the third-lowest total in the A.L. among pitchers with at least 70.0 IP...Opposing 4 through 6 hitters in the lineup hit a combined 6-for-92 on the year, a .065 average...the middle of the opposing lineup combined for just 2 doubles and 1 home run...Posted an 0.61 ERA in 8 relief appearances in August, the third-lowest ERA in the league (min. 10.0 IP)...Made a spot start in place of Gil Meche on September 4 vs. Los Angeles...held the Angels scoreless on 1 hit and 2 walks over 5.1 IP...Followed the Angels outing by tying a career high with 8 strikeouts over 6.0 scoreless frames on September 9 vs. Detroit...Compiled a career best 23.0-inning scoreless streak from August 18 to September 15...the streak was snapped in the fifth inning on September 15 at Detroit...From August 18 through the remainder of the season, was 3-1 with a 2.29 ERA in 10 games (6 starts)...allowed just 16 hits in 132 at bats over 39.1 innings, holding the opposition to a .121 batting average...Remained in the rotation from September 4 on, making 6 starts...reeled off 3 consecutive wins from September 9 to 20...recorded a 0.81 ERA over the fi rst 4 starts (2 ER in 22.1 IP).

Began 2008 in the Texas Rangers organization before being claimed off waivers by the Royals on June 24...pitched well out of the KC bullpen the remainder of the season, making 24 relief appearances and 1 spot start...Recorded the lowest single-season opponent batting average of any Royals pitcher in history (min. 30 IP), as opponents hit just .163 against him as a Royal...Completely shut down right-handed hitters, as they posted a .115 (9-for-78) batting average against him...Struck out 41 in 39.1 innings with the Royals for a 9.38 strikeouts/9 innings, the third-best ratio among KC pitchers with at least 35 innings since 1999...Posted a spectacular 1.35 ERA (20 IP, 3 ER) and a 1-0 record in 11 road appearances, including 1 start... opponents hit .078 (5-for-64) on the road...Earned a win in a spot start in Game #2 on September 13 at Cleveland, allowing just 1 run on 2 hits in 5.0 innings.

The Rangers' No. 4 starter at the beginning of the season, Tejeda went 5-9, 6.61 (70 ER/95.1 IP) in 19 games/starts for Texas...was optioned to Oklahoma (AAA) on July 23 and spent rest of season in PCL, as he did not rejoin club in September...just 2 ML pitchers with at least 19 starts had a higher ERA than Tejeda in '07: Seattle's Horacio Ramirez (7.16 ERA in 20 starts) and Detroit/St. Louis' Mike Maroth (6.89 ERA in 27 games/20 starts)...it was the highest figure by a Texas pitcher with at least 19 starts since Colby Lewis had a 7.30 ERA in his 10-win season in 2003...ranked T5th in AL with 10 wild pitches...opponents batted .290 (110-379) with 17 home runs, .317 (59-186) by lefties and .264 (51-193) by right-handers...team was 8-11 in his starts...produced just 4 quality starts in 19 outings...threw 7.0 innings in 2 of his first 3 starts, then did not last 7.0 frames the rest of the season...was 2-5, 6.24 (37 ER/53.1 IP) in 10 starts in Arlington, 3-4, 7.07 (33 ER/42.0 IP) in 9 starts on road...earned win in Rangers' home opener on April 6 vs. Boston, allowing just 2 hits in 7.0 shutout innings...was 3-2, 3.89 (16 ER/37.0 IP) in first 6 starts through May 3...beginning May 9, was 2-7, 8.33 (54 ER/58.1 IP) in final 13 starts in Majors...optioned to Triple-A on July 16, but did not pitch for RedHawks and was recalled July 17...made 2 more starts and was optioned again on July 23...last ML outing was in a loss on July 22 vs. Cleveland (5.0 IP, 5 H, 5 R-3 ER)...Oklahoma: Went 1-3, 8.20 (17 ER/18.2 IP) in 5 games/4 starts for RedHawks...had 8 strikeouts on 2 occasions, but threw less than 6.0 innings in each outing...made last start on Aug. 13 vs. Iowa, and only game the rest of the way was relief appearance on Sept. 1 at Albuquerque...was on DL Aug. 15-30...went 2-2, 2.96 (9 ER/27.1 IP) in 8 games/5 starts for Aguilas in Dominican Winter League.
2006
Tejeda's 4.28 ERA was the lowest for a Rangers starter with at least 14 starts...was 4-1 with a 2.01 ERA (11 ER/49 1/3 IP) in eight starts after being recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma on Aug. 19...was 6-2 with a 3.15 ERA in 15 starts at Oklahoma...was 1-3 with a 9.78 ERA in five starts with the Rangers before the All-Star break, four in May and one in June...was 0-3 with a 7.17 ERA in five starts at home and 5-2 with a 3.10 ERA in nine starts on the road...his 1.13 ERA in September was the lowest in the Major Leagues...right-handed hitters batted .250 off him, while left-handers hit .330...six of his last nine outings were quality starts...missed most of Spring Training while with the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic, but made just two relief appearances...was acquired right before the season started from the Philadelphia Phillies for outfielder David Dellucci.
