Graduated from State College (Pa.) Area High School...Grew up with the hopes and dreams of playing collegiately (in some sport) for Penn State University...Bivens has a tattoo on his left wrist of his home state of Pennsylvania. A star in the tattoo marks his hometown of State College...Took a surprise trip to Dodger Stadium when he was roughly 10 years old with his mom, Caran Aikens...A young Bivens pretended to throw pitches from behind the mound and crashed into the wall making imaginary catches.

Split the season between SF and Triple-A Sacramento. Posted a 5-1 record with a 2.92 ERA (16er, 49.1ip) and 42 strikeouts in 27 games for the River Cats with opponents hitting .231 off him. Had his contract selected on June 16 and made his MLB debut that day against the Angels, earning the win after working three innings with a run (HR) on a hit with four strikeouts...At 29 years, 354 days old, Bivens became the oldest Giant to make his MLB debut since Jason Krizan on April 29, 2022 (32.305) and the oldest Giants pitcher since Jean Machi on Sept. 3, 2012 (30.215)...Also became the oldest Giants pitcher to earn the win in his MLB debut since Ace Adams on April 15, 1941 (31.044)...Made his first career start on June 30 vs. LAD and threw a career-high five innings...Prior to the start, Bivens had only reached the five-inning mark twice in his Minor League career (81 games)...Went 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA (2 ER, 9.1 IP) across his two MLB starts...Logged his first career save on Sept 28 vs. STL, striking out two in 1.0 IP...Overall, went 3-1-1 with a 3.14 ERA and .250 BAA in 27 games (two starts) at the Major League level.
