Began the season at High-A Lansing and was 3-8 with a 6.62 ERA in 17 games, including 12 starts, when he was transferred to Single-A Stockton on July 25…went 0-3 with a save and a 5.79 ERA in six games, three starts, with the Ports…combined for a 3-11 record, one save, a 6.38 ERA and .906 opponents OPS in 23 games, including 15 starts, overall…had career highs in all counting categories as well as ERA, opponents batting average (.301), on-base percentage (.400) and OPS…struck out 105 batters in 97.1 innings (9.71 per nine innings) but also walked 62 (5.73 per nine innings) and had 17 wild pitches…his opponents batting average broke down to .270 with a .776 OPS against right-handed hitters compared to .335 with a 1.051 OPS against lefthanded hitters…surrendered 11 of his 16 home runs to lefties…yielded a .309 average with runners in scoring position…was 2-10 with a 7.92 ERA and .985 opponents OPS in 15 starts and 1-1 with a 3.48 ERA and .739 OPS in eight relief appearances…stranded all four of his inherited runners in his eight relief appearances and first batters faced were 0-for-6 with two walks…tossed at least 3.0 innings in all eight of his relief appearances…compiled an 11.66 ERA and 1.209 OPS in the first inning…tossed a career-high 6.0 innings in the second game of an April 23 doubleheader against Fort Wayne…struck out a career-high seven batters in 5.0 innings on April 30 at Lake County…it was his first of four seven-strikeout games in 2022…tossed 5.0 scoreless innings of one-hit ball for his second win of the season on May 11 against Dayton…it was one of two scoreless outings, with the second coming two starts later on May 22 at Great Lakes (4.1 ip)…was 1-1 with a 3.92 ERA in five games in May…it was his only month with an ERA under 5.00…had a 2.57 ERA over a three-game stretch from Aug. 5 to 19…that included his first professional save on Aug. 12 at San Jose when he tossed 5.0 innings of relief in the Ports 4-1 victory (4 h, 1 r, 1 er, 2 bb, 7 so)…logged a career-high 94 pitches in a 9-2 loss at Fresno on Aug. 25.

Pitched in just eight games in his first professional season due to a nearly three-month stint on the injured list with a sprained right elbow…went 1-3 with a 6.26 ERA and .857 opponents OPS in seven games, including six starts, with High-A Lansing…also made one rehab start with the A’s affiliate in the Arizona Complex League and was 1-3 with a 6.04 ERA in eight games, seven starts, overall…allowed a .259 opponents batting average, including .207 (12-for58) against left-handed hitters compared to .320 (16-for-50) against right-handers…yielded a .216 average with the bases empty, .353 with runners on…opponents hit .333 with runners in scoring position…surrendered 15 of his 20 runs in the third inning for an 18.00 ERA…had a 2.11 ERA in all other innings…held opponents to a .083 batting average with two strikes while pitching for Lansing…pitched on at least six days of rest in each of his appearances…tossed at least 3.0 innings in each of his seven appearances with Lansing…made his professional debut with a start and no decision in a 5-2 Lugnuts win against Lake County on May 9 (4.1 ip, 2 h, 1 r, 1 er, 1 bb, 5 so)…notched his first professional win in his next start on May 16 at Dayton when he tossed 5.0 scoreless innings in a 3-1 victory (2 h, 1 bb, 4 so)…was placed on the injured list June 26 with a sprained right elbow…was sent to the A’s affiliate in the Arizona Complex League on Sept. 11 for a rehab assignment and made one start against the Cubs that day (1.0 ip, 1 h, 1 bb)…that would be his final outing of the season.
