Signed by D-backs as a Competitive Balance B selection (74th overall) in First-Year Player Draft (July 2, 2019) \[signed by: Jeremy Kehrt\]....Attended the University of Michigan from 2017-19...Set a school record for strikeouts in a single season (134) and matched the record in wins (12) as a junior...Captained the Wolverines to the 2019 College World Series Finals (lost to Vanderbilt University)…earned the victory over the Commodores in Game 1 of the finals (3 ER in 8.1 IP)…Named to NCAA College World Series All-Tournament Team and was a Perfect Game All-America Honorable Mention...Was the first University of Michigan player to be drafted by the D-backs...On June 9, 2019, while battling the flu and slight pneumonia, he led Michigan to a Super Regional victory and their first College World Series berth since 1984 with a seven-inning, two-run performance vs. No. 1 UCLA....Head Coach Erik Bakich called it "the gutsiest performance" he has ever seen in college baseball....Was scheduled to pitch in Game 1 of the Super Regional but was scratched.

2022

Made nine starts in his first Major League stint with Arizona, going 3-4 with a 5.36 ERA (28 ER in 47.0 IP)...Made his Major League debut on Aug. 3 @ Guardians (4 ER in 5.0 IP…was the first D-back to make their Major League debut as a starter since Alex Young on June 27, 2019 @ Giants...Optioned to Triple-A Reno on Sept. 8…recalled on Sept. 23...Went 4-4 with a 3.74 ERA (47 ER in 113.0 IP) in 21 starts with the Aces...Ranked among Pacific Coast League leaders at the time of his promotion in innings pitched (1st), starts (T-1st), ERA (3rd), strikeouts (5th, 100), opponent average (6th, .248) and WHIP (7th, 1.34)…Entered the season rated by MLB Pipeline as the D-backs' No. 16 prospect.

2021

 Went 4-6 with a 5.21 ERA (67 ER in 115.2 IP) and 135 strikeouts over 23 starts in his first professional season with Double-A Amarillo....Notched first career win on June 26 @ Corpus Christi (1 ER in 6.2 IP)....Ranked among all Double-A pitchers in strikeouts (1st), games started (2nd) and innings pitched (3rd).

2020

Spent the entire season at the D-backs' Alternate Training Site...Participated in Arizona's Instructional League.

2019

Made three starts with Short-Season A Hillsboro and went 0-0 with a 6.00 ERA (2 ER in 3.0 IP) and four strikeouts.
