Zach Hart Sorensen...married to Shally...has three children, son Jaxon and twin daughters, Braylen and Serae...played basketball and baseball at Highland HS (Utah)...graduated in 1995...played three years of baseball at Wichita State University (Kansas)...played in 1996 College World Series as a freshman...was named to Freshman All-American Team...participates in charitable events that benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Spent all of 2006 with Nashville (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League, hitting .262 in 75 games...hit .299 in 117 at-bats as a second baseman and .300 in 20 at-bats as a right fielder...saw time at every position except catcher and pitcher...In 13 games as the leadoff hitter, Sorensen batted .346 with one home run and four RBI in 52 at-bats...also did well batting second (.300 average in 11 games) and ninth (.294 average in 16 games)...batted .429 (3-for-7) with nine RBI with the bases loaded, and .324 (12-for-37) with eight RBI with runners on with two outs...batted .309 (25-for-81) against left handed pitchers (.231 vs. right handers).

Split the 2005 season between Triple A Salt Lake of the Pacific Coast League and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim...Played 78 games with Salt Lake hitting .303 with two home runs and 41 runs batted in...Went 3-for-4 with four RBIon May 26 at New Orleans...was a home run short of the cycle in the game...was his third consecutive game with multiple hits...Enjoyed a 12-game hitting streak from June 15-26...Hit .327 in June with a home run and 15 RBI...Owned a .320 batting average against Triple A lefties...Played 24 games at first base, five at second base, three at third base, 47 at shortstop, five games at center field and made one appearance as the designated hitter for Salt Lake...Promoted to the Angels on July 9 . . . outrighted to Salt Lake on July 29...recalled again on September 2...Played 24 games at first base, five games at second base, three games at third base, 47 games at shortstop and five games as an outfielder for Salt Lake...In two stints with the Angels in 2005, Sorensen hit a combined .167 in 12 contests...Went 2-4 on September 9 at U.S. Cellular Field...hit a double to lead off the fifth inning off Mark Buehrle and later scored.

Began the season with Triple A Buffalo and went on to play 26 games with Double A Akron before being released by the Indians on May 21...Signed with the Anaheim organization on that same day and was assigned to Triple A Salt Lake.
