In the wake of being named to the NL's Futures Game roster, Alzolay will make his second career start. The right-hander worked 4 2/3 innings against the Braves on Tuesday, allowing one solo homer and ending with four strikeouts and four walks.

In his third start since returning from the IL, Williams will look to build on his prior outing vs. the Astros on Tuesday, when he pitched into the seventh inning and yielded four runs. Williams will be facing the Cubs for the first time this year.

Houser was dominant in 14 relief appearances but struggled in his first start back in the rotation, blaming nerves for his command issues in a loss to the Mariners in which he allowed three runs on four hits and three walks in two innings.

Mahle's homecoming start in Anaheim on June 25 got off to a tough start with a homer in each of the first two innings, but he settled in after to fire three scoreless frames. This will be his first start of the season against Milwaukee, which he last faced on June 30, 2018, in a 5 2/3-inning, three-run (one-earned) effort.

Eshelman will be making his MLB debut. Acquired from the Phillies on June 9, Eshelamn pitched to a 4.05 ERA over his first three starts with the Orioles organization, all with Norfolk. Eshelman, 25, is 26-29 with a 4.17 ERA in five Minor League seasons.

In 23 opener starts this season, Stanek is 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA. The Rays are 15-8 in games started by the right-hander this season. Ryan Yarbrough is likely to get the bulk of the innings on Monday.
