Executive Vice President, Chief Revenue Officer
Jim Cochrane was promoted to Executive Vice President & Chief Business Officer in January 2025. In his current role, the 29-year veteran of the Rangers front office oversees all business revenue areas for the club, including partnerships, ticket and premium sales and service, and analytics. He has also taken on additional responsibilities for other departments, including marketing and ballpark operations.
Cochrane previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer in 2024 following one year as EVP, Partnerships and Client Services. He oversaw broadcasting in 2024 and was integral in the creation and launch of Rangers Sports Network in January 2025. He has also led partnership efforts at Texas Live! and One Rangers Way. Cochrane negotiated a licensing agreement with the Arlington for the Texas Rangers Golf Club, the only MLB-themed golf course in the country, which opened in 2019 following a $24 million renovation to the course and clubhouse.
He played a key role in negotiating the ballpark naming rights agreement with Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company, which was announced in February 2014, and was also instrumental as part of the team that negotiated the extension of the naming rights agreement for the new Globe Life Field.
A native of Bedford, Texas, Cochrane began his career with the Texas Rangers as an intern in 1997 and became Vice President, Corporate Sales in 2010 before earning a promotion to Senior Vice President, Partnerships and Client Services, in 2014. He has also sold partnerships and media for the Dallas Stars (2000–2003, 2007–2009), Hicks Sports Group (2007–2009), Cedar Park Center (2007–2009), and Mesquite Championship Rodeo (2000–2003, 2007–2009).
A graduate of University of Oklahoma, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and previously served on the Board of the SMU Athletic Forum. He and his wife, Mendi, live in Southlake and have two daughters, Abby (25) and Jenna (20).
