Chairman of Rangers Sports Media and Entertainment
Neil Leibman serves as Chairman of Rangers Sports Media & Entertainment Company, which was announced in January 2025 as the parent company for Rangers Sports Network as well as REV Entertainment. Leibman led efforts to build Rangers Sports Network (RSN), a new media venture created to produce and distribute the team’s games and other content beginning last year. In its first year of broadcasting Rangers games, the RSN team under Leibman’s leadership saw significant gains in distribution, ratings, and production quality, while also driving increased viewership for pregame and postgame shows.
Leibman begins a second year in his current role after previously serving as Rangers COO and President of Business Operations. He also works closely with Managing Partner and Majority Owner Ray Davis on future development opportunities and serves as Chairman of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.
Leibman is an original member of the ownership group that purchased the Rangers in August 2010 and serves on the team’s Board of Directors. He was appointed Chairman of the Rangers Ownership Committee in the spring of 2013.
Over the last nine years, he has worked closely with Davis and the Arlington on the agreement to build Globe Life Field and with Loews Hotels & Co. on the Texas Live!, Live! by Loews - Arlington, Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center, and One Rangers Way projects. Leibman has also been very active in securing non-MLB sports and entertainment events and properties for both Globe Life Field and Choctaw Stadium.
Leibman is the Co-Managing Partner of Top Tier Sports, which has ownership stakes in the Allen Americans (East Coast Hockey League), Dallas Jackals (Major League Rugby), Minnesota Whitecaps (Premier Hockey Federation), and the Official League lifestyle brand. He also has ownership in several esports teams owned by Immortals Gaming Club, where he serves on the Board of Directors.
Mr. Leibman is currently CEO of Summer Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: SUME), a retail electricity provider serving the Texas residential and commercial markets. Prior to Summer Energy, he was Chairman and CEO of Aspen Pipeline LP I and II, a private equity firm (Energy Spectrum of Dallas)-backed limited partnership that owns and operates gas gathering systems and transportation pipelines. In addition, Mr. Leibman was former CEO of GEXA Corp., a Houston-based retail electricity provider that he founded and sold to FPL Group, Inc. (NYSE: FPL) in June 2005, after which he assisted in the transition as President of the combined entity. Prior to founding GEXA Corp., he practiced law in the partnership of Leibman & Oesch, LLP. Upon graduation from law school, he began his career as an attorney for Exxon Company USA.
Mr. Leibman, who offices and resides in Dallas, has three children. He received his BA from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He also attended the State University of New York School of Law and Business, simultaneously obtaining a Law degree and a Master of Business Administration, graduating with honors. Mr. Leibman serves on numerous school boards and charitable organizations.
