Senior Vice President, Communications
Rich Rice was promoted to Senior Vice President, Communications in January 2025 after previously serving as Vice President, Communications. In this role, Rice oversees all aspects of the Texas Rangers Communications and Photography departments.
This marks his 33rd season working in Major League Baseball and his 26th in a full-time club communications role. He has spent 23 of the last 25 seasons in the Rangers Communications Department, supporting six of the nine postseason teams in franchise history as well as all three of the club’s World Series appearances. Rice was recognized by his peers with MLB’s 2023 Robert O. Fishel Award for Public Relations Excellence.
A native of Blue Springs, Missouri, Rice completed internships with the Chicago Cubs, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City prior to joining the Rangers. He earned a BBA from University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1999 and a Master’s in Sports Administration from Ohio University in 2000. From 1994 to 1999, he also served as a clubhouse attendant and batboy for the Kansas City Royals.
Rice and his wife, Jennifer, live in Lantana, Texas, with their daughter Madeline (17) and son Brooks (14).
