General Manager
Ross Fenstermaker was promoted to General Manager on November 4, 2024, becoming just the 10th individual to hold the title in Rangers history. He continues to work alongside Chris Young, who became President of Baseball Operations on September 13, 2024.
Fenstermaker worked with Young as part of an active offseason this past winter, when the club made trades to acquire both Brandon Nimmo and MacKenzie Gore. The duo is also responsible for the re-signing of Nathan Eovaldi, along with the signing of Kyle Higashioka prior to the 2025 campaign.
The 39-year-old Fenstermaker served three years from 2022-24 as Vice President/Assistant General Manager for Player Development and International Operations. In his previous role, he had oversight of the player development/minor league operations departments and was also responsible for the Rangers’ international amateur scouting efforts. He played a large role in the signing of top prospect Sebastian Walcott and had additional involvement in other areas of baseball operations under Young and department leaders.
Texas affiliates at each of six levels of play have made postseason appearances in the past three seasons, following the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders’ 2022 Texas League championship. Club affiliates have produced a winning record for seven consecutive seasons, including a combined .513 winning percentage in 2025, which ranked 11th among all organizations. The contributions of player development aided in the Rangers’ selection as 2023 Baseball America Organization of the Year.
He enters his 17th season overall with the Rangers, his ninth based in Arlington, as Fenstermaker has extensive experience in professional and international scouting. He was the Senior Director of Pro & International Scouting from 2020-21 and Director of Pro Scouting in 2018-19. He spent the 2017 season as International Crosschecker after serving as a professional scout from 2011-16. Ross began his tenure with the organization in 2010 as a baseball operations intern. His first job in professional baseball was as an advance video scouting intern with the Seattle Mariners in 2009.
A native of Granite Bay, California, Ross was a left-handed pitcher at Granite Bay High School (graduated 2004) and the University of California-Davis (graduated 2008). He and his wife Lindsay have two daughters, Amelia and Finley, and reside in Southlake.
