Cash discusses Roe, Pham injury timetables

ST. PETERSBURG -- had surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb on Tuesday morning in St. Petersburg.
Dr. Doug Carlan performed the surgery, which will likely end Robertson's season, given the estimated recovery time of six to eight weeks.
"[The surgery] went as planned," Rays manager Kevin Cash said. "Obviously, unfortunate with the time he's going to miss. [His injury] was very similar to ['s earlier in the season]. It was a tear, so get him healthy, get him back. It will probably be right around the end of the season."
Robertson suffered the injury sliding into second base Friday night against the White Sox.
(left meniscus tear) threw a 25-pitch live BP session in Port Charlotte, Fla., on Monday. Cash told reporters that Roe would likely go on a rehab assignment soon, potentially as early as Thursday.
"Everything's good. He's progressing really well," Cash said.
• Tommy Pham's status remains up in the air, but the prognosis sounds favorable as he recovers from a right foot fracture.
"Said he felt much better," Cash said. "The pain is starting to subside. The boot is supposed to help him. Probably more irritation than anything. I think he feels like he's closer, progressing nicely. I don't want to put a timetable on it yet, because he's still got to swing, he's got to run, all of those things, and we'll get a better sense when he does that."
Cash said Pham potentially will accompany the team on the upcoming road trip to Toronto, New York and Boston.
"We've got three more days, and we'll see how he continues to feel," Cash said.
