Rockies Introduce Purple Mondays Campaign During ‘Year of the Fan’
Club Encourages All Fans to Wear Purple Every Monday
DENVER – Rockies fans are encouraged to join the team every Monday of the season by wearing their Rockies purple. This season the Rockies are introducing Purple Mondays at every Monday home game and fans will have the opportunity to win major prize giveaways each Monday home game during the ‘Year of the Fan.’
The first Purple Monday of the season will be Opening Day, April 9th against the San Francisco Giants. All fans attending the game will receive a purple rally towel presented by Coors Light upon entering Coors Field.
“Wear Purple, Win Prizes”. Purple Mondays will offer fans the chance to win prizes at the 11 Monday home games on 10 dates, including the scheduled doubleheader against Houston on May 28th. Randomly selected fans that wear purple to Coors Field during each Purple Monday game will have the opportunity to win merchandise, memorabilia, game used items, autographed merchandise and ticket prizes, including the opportunity to win a trip to the 2012 All-Star Game in Kansas City.
The Rockies have also created a Purple Monday Ticket Special that includes tickets to all nine Monday home night games at Coors Field from April 16 to September 24. The ticket package begins at $99 for Upper Reserved Infield.
In addition to fans, Colorado Rockies partners have joined in on the Purple Monday theme. Corporate partners are supporting the 2012 ‘Year of the Fan’ and the Purple Mondays campaign through various in market and in stadium initiatives, including a series of purple player t-shirt giveaways at the ballpark. Partners of the Rockies joining the campaign include AT&T, Coca-Cola, Comfort Dental, DaVita, Frontier Airlines, King Soopers, 850 KOA, Kwal Paint, MillerCoors, Qdoba, Root Sports, Sports Authority, University of Colorado Health, Wells Fargo and more.
With 2012 representing 20 years with the fans, the Rockies have dedicated this season as the ‘Year of the Fan.’
