DENVER -- Three Rockies players have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus after working out at Coors Field, according to the Denver Post.

The Rockies, citing federal health information privacy laws, declined to comment on or confirm the tests. The club has not issued an announcement since the Post first reported them on Tuesday.

The Post said the tests occurred last week, and that one of the players showed symptoms while the others were asymptomatic. Over the weekend, MLB ordered that all facilities, including Coors Field, would be closed for a week after several positive tests at various facilities were revealed.

Spring Training was shut down in March because of the novel coronavirus worldwide pandemic. The revelation of Rockies players came on the same evening that MLB announced it will have a 60-game 2020 regular-season schedule. Players are to report for the resumption of training by July 1.

MLB announced in a press release that the league “is working with a variety of public health experts, infectious disease specialists and technology providers on a comprehensive approach that aims to facilitate a safe return.”
