Royals-Angels Sunday game moved up due to threat of rain

April 26th, 2026

KANSAS CITY -- Due to inclement weather in the forecast, Sunday night’s game between the Royals and Angels has been moved up to 3:10 p.m. CT at Kauffman Stadium.

Originally scheduled for 6:20 p.m. CT, the game is still set to air on NBCSN/Peacock.

The Royals were not expecting tickets to be impacted, but any changes and more information would be posted here.

Right-hander Seth Lugo will take the mound for the Royals as they look for their first sweep of the season, while lefty Reid Detmers has the start for the Angels.

The teams found out that the game was going to get moved up around 10:30-10:45 a.m. CT, which led to a scramble making sure everyone knew and would be able to get to the stadium on time for pregame prep. But by the time everyone did get here, it was business as usual.

“Changes, obviously, what we would have had on a normal day on the field being a night game, but it’ll be fine,” manager Matt Quatraro said. “It’s just different. It feels a little rushed, but guys will still have plenty of time to hit in the cage, run, get treatment.”
