Royals add Brooks to bullpen, option Pino

ARLINGTON -- The Royals made a change in their bullpen before Tuesday's game against Texas, calling up right-hander Aaron Brooks from Triple-A Omaha and optioning reliever Yohan Pino to the Storm Chasers.

Pino saved the bullpen in Monday's 8-2 loss to the Rangers, allowing a run in 3 1/3 innings after starter Danny Duffy was knocked out of the game in the fourth inning.

The 25-year-old Brooks has a 2-3 record and 3.51 ERA is six appearances for Omaha this season. Brooks had had one stint with the Royals in 2015, serving as the 26th man for a doubleheader against the White Sox. He didn't pitch.
