Minnesota Twins to "Turn Back the Clock" Against the Milwaukee Brewers

Game on Thursday, June 5 at 7:10 p.m. presented by Kemps

Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn. - The Minnesota Twins today announced plans for their "Turn Back the Clock" game on Thursday, June 5 at 7:10 p.m. against the Milwaukee Brewers. During the game, both teams will celebrate baseball history by wearing throwback uniforms from the 1980s. The first 10,000 fans 18 and older will receive an adult L/XL 1984 Kirby Puckett road jersey. In addition, fans are encouraged to come to Target Field dressed in their finest gear from the 1980s. Fans at the game can Tweet or Instagram photos of their 80s gear using #80sTwins for their chance to win Rubik's Cubes that have been autographed by Twins players.

During the "Turn Back the Clock" game, the Twins will be remembering 1984, a year that saw Kirby Puckett make his Major League debut, Carl Pohlad purchase the Minnesota Twins franchise and Prince record three of the year's top ten hits. The 1984 Twins squad featured a variety of young, untested players who later set the foundation for the 1987 World Series Champion team.

The American Flag will be raised by Dick Ericson, a 2014 MLB Groundskeeper Hall of Fame inductee, who worked for the Twins at both Metropolitan Stadium and at the Metrodome. Ericson also served in the Navy during the Korean War.

Ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by Twins Hitting Coach Tom Brunansky and former Twin Kent Hrbek, who were both part of the 1984 team and members of that year's "Bruise Brothers" squad. The pregame ceremony will feature a special "then and now" video featuring the infamous "Bruise Brothers."

During the pregame ceremony, the Twins will honor 50 Puckett Scholars from throughout the 20 years of the scholarship's existence. The Puckett Scholars Program was created in 1994 by Kirby and Tonya Puckett to provide scholarships for incoming first-year students from Minnesota.

Throughout the game, music will be provided by the Twin Cities hottest dance-party-rock-show, Pop ROCKS, who will be performing the 80's retro portion of their show and playing a set during the pre-game ceremony.

Prior to the game, fans can view classic sports cars of the 1980s on Target Plaza.
