Carlos Rodón is scheduled to begin a Minor League rehab assignment at High-A Hudson Valley on Friday, the Yankees announced Tuesday. It will be the first game action for Rodón in 2026 after undergoing left arm surgery in the offseason.
Hudson Valley has a unique circumstance on its hands, with Rodón slated to pitch back-to-back with fellow rehabbing ace Gerrit Cole. Cole (Tommy John surgery) is scheduled to make his second rehab start on Thursday with the Renegades.
Rodón most recently threw on Saturday in live batting practice with Double-A Somerset, when manager Aaron Boone anticipated he’d run close to 60 pitches. The lefty had smoothly handled three innings and 50 pitches on April 13 -- showing no lingering issues from right hamstring tightness that cropped up during his rehab.
Rodón, 33, went 18-9 in 2025 with a 3.08 ERA, posting a career-high 195 1/3 innings.
Cole, 35, allowed three runs on three hits with three strikeouts and a walk in 4 1/3 innings with Double-A Somerset last weekend. He threw 44 total pitches, including 36 strikes.
