Senior Vice President, General Counsel
Mari Guttman was elevated to Senior Vice President, General Counsel in December 2025. She originally joined the Twins in August 2021 as Deputy General Counsel, and was promoted to Vice President on January 1, 2025.
As Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Guttman oversees a department that provides guidance on all legal matters, including maintaining the day-to-day responsibility for legal needs pertaining to brand partnerships, suites, ticket offerings, licensing and in-season activations. In addition, Guttman continues to expand and improve the organization’s legal services and processes and serves as the Team’s liaison with MLB’s legal department. Guttman has also taken on leadership responsibilities both within and outside the organization, including serving as co-chair of the Twins’ IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Action) Council, sitting on the Executive Committee of the Minneapolis Downtown Council, and serving on the Minneapolis Downtown Action Council.
Prior to joining the Twins, Guttman was Associate Counsel for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies. While in this role, she managed the team’s in-house legal needs and served in a business and legal advisory capacity to the organization’s executive management team. Guttman also spent three years as an Associate at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she represented public and private corporations in domestic and cross-border transactions in connection with acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, debt and equity offerings, restructurings, and other corporate governance matters.
A native of Chicago, Guttman attended law school at Stanford University and received her bachelor’s degree from Grinnell College, where she swam and played water polo.
