Vice President, Assistant General Manager
Rob Antony begins his 33rd season in the Twins organization and his 13th as Assistant General Manager, after being named to that role on September 13, 2007. He assumed the role of interim General Manager from July 18-October 3, 2016, before transferring back to his current position. He was promoted to Vice President in December of 2013. He is responsible for overseeing amateur, pro and international scouting, as well as evaluating all players in the Twins organization. Antony also negotiates arbitration eligible contracts and various other contracts, and oversees the baseball operations budgeting process.
Prior to his current position, he was Director of Baseball Operations for 12 seasons and was responsible for various duties in the minor league and scouting departments, including the spring training operation and free agent draft preparations. He was also responsible for establishing and overseeing the budget for the minor league, major league and scouting departments. He worked closely with the scouting department and scouted players eligible for the free agent draft, as well as amateurs in Australia and Latin America.
Antony was hired as Assistant Director of Media Relations in 1988 after graduating from the University of Minnesota. In June of 1991, he was promoted to Director of Media Relations and held that post until December 1995, when he was promoted to Director of Baseball Operations.
Rob and his wife, Lynn, have two children, Tyler and Emily, and reside in Plymouth, MN.
