Celebrating the A’s 125th Anniversary

The 2026 season will mark the 125th anniversary of the Athletics, who will commemorate the milestone with a special sleeve patch worn throughout the season beginning with Opening Day, March 27. The patch will appear on the sleeve of both the club’s home white and road gray jerseys.
Founded in 1901 as one of the eight original American League franchises, the Athletics called Philadelphia home for 54 years, spent 13 seasons in Kansas City, 57 years in Oakland, and are now in their second of three seasons in Sacramento ahead of a move to Las Vegas in 2028.
The commemorative patch celebrates every chapter of Athletics history, from Philadelphia to Kansas City, Oakland to Sacramento, and features the iconic white elephant as a symbol of the club’s enduring legacy.
One of the Most Storied Franchises in Major League Baseball History
The A’s are one of the most storied franchises in Major League history, having won nine World Championships, 15 Pennants and 17 Division Titles. Only the New York Yankees (27) and St. Louis Cardinals (11) have won more World Series, and only the Yankees (41) have more American League Pennants. The Athletics also boast 11 Most Valuable Players, five Cy Young Award winners, nine Rookies of the Year and four Manager of the Year Award winners.
125th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Set

As part of the club’s 125th anniversary celebration, fans who attend the game in West Sacramento on August 12 will receive an exclusive commemorative coin set. Each coin will feature a city the A’s has called home, in addition to their future in Las Vegas. A depiction of the 125th anniversary logo will be featured on the back.
