Celebrate the legendary 1992 and 1993 Blue Jays during Back-to-Back Statue Unveil!
On October 24, 1992, baseball fans around the world heard the iconic phrase, “For the first time in history, the World Championship banner will fly north of the border!” One year later, the Blue Jays did it again, becoming just the 7th club in MLB to capture back-to-back World Series titles, winning it all in both 1992 and 1993.
The Blue Jays are honouring the Back-to-Back World Series titles with a statue of Joe Carter at Rogers Centre. Joe’s depiction in the statue represents the first World Series won on Canadian soil and his famous walk-off home run in 1993, while the statue is symbolic of the back-to-back championships and a tribute to both the 1992 and 1993 teams.
Where will you be when the Blue Jays unveil the statue outside Rogers Centre, between Gates 5 and 6, on July 18 in a special pregame ceremony with alumni honouring the two championship teams.
