Introduced in 2000 alongside ACE, Diamond broke ground as one of MLB’s first female mascots. A “super sassy, ultra-hip” bird, she blended bubbly charm with a confident, can-do attitude. With her iconic wink, playful pranks, and signature dance moves, Diamond proved she could match ACE’s antics while carving out her own spirited identity.
VINTAGE MASCOTS

The Toronto Blue Jays are thrilled to bring back our beloved vintage mascots, Diamond, Domer and BJ Birdy, as we celebrate 50 seasons of Blue Jays baseball!
Catch these vintage mascots alongside ACE and Junior on select game days, interacting with fans on the concourse and joining our in-game entertainment.

Unveiled in 1989 for the grand opening of SkyDome, Domer was the mascot of the stadium, his shell cleverly mirroring the shape of the dome. Designed in the venue’s brand colours, he symbolized durability, warmth, and welcome during SkyDome’s early years. More than a game-day presence, Domer roamed events of all kinds, becoming the friendly “Keeper of SkyDome” amongst Toronto sports fans. Domer is gentle, yet quick-witted and energetic, bringing the excitement wherever he goes.

Debuting in 1979 as the Toronto Blue Jays’ first mascot, BJ Birdy was an energetic rascal known for mischievous, improvisational antics and exuberant fan engagement. He famously climbed the fence at Exhibition Stadium and became the only American League mascot ever ejected from a game, cementing his playful troublemaker reputation. From 1979 to 1999, BJ Birdy’s lovable impulsiveness and boundary-pushing humor made him a franchise original and fan favorite.
