Aaron Judge, Max Fried, Giancarlo Stanton, Cody Bellinger, Ryan McMahon and Clarke Schmidt, Yankees

Judge (stress fracture in ribs) hit off a tee on Aug. 19 and Aug. 20 at Yankee Stadium, manager Aaron Boone said.

Fried (left elbow bone bruise) had a "good day" throwing on Aug. 19, Boone said.

Stanton (right calf strain) has been hitting, including live batting practice, and is “toward the end of his running program," Boone said on Aug. 18.

Bellinger (left hamstring strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Aug. 20 and could return by the weekend of Aug. 22-23 against the Blue Jays.

McMahon jammed his left thumb on a second-inning slide into second base on Aug. 19. He underwent X-rays, which were negative, but he was not in the lineup on Aug. 20. McMahon is expected to undergo imaging Aug. 21 in New York.

Schmidt (Tommy John surgery recovery) threw from a mound on Aug. 18 and will do so again on Aug. 21, preparing for a live batting practice session.

Edwin Díaz, Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow, Gavin Stone, Will Smith and Justin Wrobleski, Dodgers

Díaz (neck inflammation) underwent an Aug. 19 MRI that showed no structural damage. There is no timetable for his return, but the Dodgers expect him to pitch again this season.

Ohtani (left knee inflammation, right biceps discomfort) threw 35 pitches in an Aug. 18 bullpen session, his second bullpen session since restarting his throwing progression. His next step could be facing live hitters, possibly during the week of Aug. 24.

Glasnow (lower back spasms) struck out nine batters across 5 1/3 innings in his fourth rehab start on Aug. 19 for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Stone (right shoulder inflammation) pitched three perfect innings in an Aug. 20 rehab appearance for Triple-A Oklahoma City, striking out five.

Smith (neck inflammation) did not travel to Denver with the Dodgers but instead remained in Los Angeles to maintain his rehab schedule. He is facing live batting practice and could begin a Minor League rehab assignment as soon as the week of Aug. 24.

Wrobleski was placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 16 with left forearm inflammation.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Andrés Giménez, Trey Yesavage, Jameson Taillon and Spencer Arrighetti, Blue Jays

Guerrero (concussion) went 1-for-1 with a double and two walks in an Aug. 20 rehab game for Single-A Dunedin. He remains on track to return when first eligible on Aug. 22 against the Yankees.

Giménez exited in the fourth inning on Aug. 20 with right hamstring tightness. He is not scheduled to undergo an MRI for now, and the team will re-evaluate him on Aug. 21.

Yesavage (left meniscus surgery) began playing catch on Aug. 18.

Taillon (right forearm tendinitis) will throw a bullpen session on Aug. 20.

Arrighetti (Morton's neuroma in right foot) threw a bullpen session on Aug. 19 and could be activated ahead of the Aug. 21 series opener against the Yankees.

Jeremy Peña, Astros

Peña was removed from the Astros' Aug. 19 game after two innings with a right hand contusion after being hit by a pitch and was not in the lineup on Aug. 20. An MRI revealed no structural damage.

Ketel Marte, D-backs

Marte was placed on the 10-day injured list on Aug. 20 with left knee inflammation.

Jac Caglianone, Maikel Garcia and Carlos Estévez, Royals

Caglianone left the Royals' Aug. 19 game in the fifth inning with right ankle soreness. He was held out of the lineup on Aug. 20 for precautionary reasons.

Garcia will be placed on the injured list with a left hamstring strain, Royals manager Matt Quatraro said on Aug. 20.

Estévez (right rotator cuff strain) threw a live batting practice session on Aug. 19 in Arizona, and if he recovers well, he will continue on a live batting practice progression later in the week.

Roman Anthony, Masataka Yoshida, Tanner Houck, Trevor Story, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Garrett Whitlock and Justin Slaten, Red Sox

Anthony (partially torn tendon in right ring finger) went 2-for-2 with two walks and a home run in the first game of a rehab assignment with Double-A Portland on Aug. 18 before resting on Aug. 19.

Yoshida underwent an MRI on Aug. 17 that revealed a significant left hamstring strain. He will seek other opinions but could be pushing against the clock to return this season.

Houck (torn right UCL/right flexor pronator strain) threw to hitters on Aug. 18 for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery in August 2025, keeping hope alive he can return this season.

Story (sports hernia) played six innings at shortstop on Aug. 19 for Triple-A Worcester, going 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, an RBI and a run scored. He could return to Boston’s lineup as soon as Aug. 21, when the Red Sox open a series with the Giants at Fenway Park.

Kiner-Falefa (stress reaction in left forearm) went 1-for-3 with a single, a walk and a run scored on Aug. 19 for Triple-A Worcester.

Whitlock and Slaten, both on the injured list with right elbow inflammation, underwent MRIs on Aug. 17 that revealed no structural damage. They will resume throwing as symptoms allow.

Daniel Palencia, Dansby Swanson, Ben Brown and Edward Cabrera, Cubs

Palencia (mild right flexor strain) will be activated before the Cubs' game on Aug. 21 in Seattle, per manager Craig Counsell.

Swanson (left oblique strain) is expected to miss at least four weeks.

Brown (stress reaction in neck) is scheduled to throw a live BP session in Arizona on Aug. 21.

Cabrera developed a blister on his right middle finger in his first start off the injured list (left hamstring strain) on Aug. 16 and was placed back on the 15-day IL the following day. The working plan is for him to return as a reliever.

Konnor Griffin and Ryan O'Hearn, Pirates

Griffin (torn left ring finger sagittal band) is out of his splint and will head to the club's complex in Bradenton, Fla. on Aug. 19 to continue rehabbing. The Pirates are "optimistic" that Griffin could be ready to return as soon as he becomes eligible on Sept. 4.

O'Hearn (left quad strain) is participating in light baseball activities and will also head to the Bradenton complex on Aug. 19.

Kyle Freeland and Hunter Goodman, Rockies

Freeland exited his Aug. 19 start against the Dodgers in the fourth inning after clutching his back.

Goodman, out of the lineup since Aug. 13 with right shoulder inflammation, was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 18.

Jo Adell, Chase DeLauter and Rhys Hoskins, Guardians

Adell (left knee contusion) is feeling better and hoping to return to the lineup during the Aug. 21-23 series against the Rockies, per an Aug. 20 update.

DeLauter (left hamstring tightness) remained out of the lineup on Aug. 20, a day after participating in pregame baseball activities.

Hoskins was placed on the injured list on Aug. 19 with lower back inflammation.

Griffin Jax and Jake Fraley, Rays

Jax (right elbow discomfort) threw 25 pitches over two innings of live batting practice at Tropicana Field on Aug. 18, with a Triple-A rehab start set for Aug. 23.

Fraley (hernia) will play a "bridge league" game on Aug. 22, then start a new Triple-A rehab stint on Aug. 25.

Sal Frelick and Abner Uribe, Brewers

Frelick (right shoulder strain) went 2-for-5 with a leadoff home run in his latest rehab game for Triple-A Nashville on Aug. 19.

Uribe (right forearm flexor strain) was scheduled for a 15-pitch bullpen session on Aug. 18.

Jack Leiter and Josh Jung, Rangers

Leiter (right ankle arthroscopic surgery) made his second rehab start on Aug. 20 with Double-A Frisco, allowing five runs (four earned) in three-plus innings with five strikeouts. He allowed three hits and two walks.

Jung (left calf strain) began jogging again on Aug. 18 after about 10 days of no activity and has been doing defensive drills.

J.P. Crawford, Mariners

Crawford (left wrist inflammation) will begin a Minor League rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Aug. 20 in West Sacramento.

Nick Pivetta and Jason Adam, Padres

Pivetta (right elbow inflammation) has continued playing catch and building up his workload since being pulled off his rehab assignment on Aug. 4. His throwing program has been transferred to the club's complex in Peoria, Ariz.

Adam (right shoulder strain) played catch from around 90 feet on Aug. 17 and was pain-free.

Jacob Wilson, Tyler Soderstrom and Denzel Clarke, Athletics

Wilson (left shoulder soreness) is expected to be placed on the IL by Aug. 21 and miss the rest of the 2026 season.

Soderstrom will undergo season-ending hip surgery on Aug. 21 to correct an ailment he has been dealing with for several weeks.

Clarke (left hamstring strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on Aug. 18.

CJ Abrams and Josiah Gray, Nationals

Abrams is day to day and was scheduled to consult a team physician after suffering a left ankle sprain running the bases on Aug. 19.

Gray (right flexor strain) pitched one inning in a rehab appearance for Single-A Fredericksburg on Aug. 18, marking his first game appearance at any level since late September 2025. He allowed one run on two hits with one strikeout.

Graham Ashcraft, Reds

Ashcraft (right UCL sprain) threw his second live batting practice session on Aug. 18 at Great American Ball Park, facing TJ Friedl and Will Banfield.

Riley Greene, Kerry Carpenter and Wenceel Pérez, Tigers

Greene (right hamstring strain) is completing a running, hitting and defense progression at the Tigers facility in Lakeland, Fla., as of an Aug. 18 update.

Carpenter (left foot plantar fasciitis) has had his rehab progression paused after a setback during running drills, per an Aug. 18 update. He will rest for a few days while the foot is partially immobilized before resuming activity as symptoms permit.

Pérez (left orbital fracture) is working out at Triple-A Toledo during the Tigers' road trip from Aug. 17-23.

Joe Ryan and Austin Martin, Twins

Ryan (mild left glute strain) threw off a mound on Aug. 18 for the first time since Aug. 4, his final start before being placed on the IL.

Martin was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 17 with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain.

Kyle Teel and Davis Martin, White Sox

Teel (high left ankle sprain) is set to run the bases on the weekend of Aug. 21-23.

Martin (blister on right middle finger) threw a bullpen session on Aug. 19.

Jorge Polanco, Mets

Polanco (left ankle bursitis) is set to undergo season-ending surgery, interim manager Andy Green announced on Aug. 19.

Willy Adames and Marcelo Mayer, Giants

Adames (back spasms) remained out of the lineup through Aug. 18.

Mayer (bone stress reaction, left ulna) could return during the Giants' upcoming Aug. 18-23 road trip.

Blaze Alexander and Félix Bautista, Orioles

Alexander (left hand fracture) and Bautista (right shoulder surgery) are both expected to begin rehab assignments within a week, as of Aug. 18.

Wade Meckler and Yusei Kikuchi, Angels

Meckler left the Angels' game on Aug. 20 in Houston after being hit in the head by a pitch in the fifth inning.

Kikuchi (left shoulder inflammation) will make his next start with the Angels after allowing eight runs on seven hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a rehab start for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Aug. 15. The club has not yet determined when Kikuchi's next start will come.

Joe Mack, Marlins

Mack (right shoulder) was out of the lineup on Aug. 18 for the third straight game but is trending in the right direction, per manager Clayton McCullough. Mack went through pregame catching drills, threw out to 120 feet and took batting practice.

Tanner Banks, Phillies

Banks (left forearm strain) threw live batting practice on Aug. 18 without any issues and will throw at least one more live BP session before potentially progressing to a rehab assignment.
