José Berríos, Blue Jays
Berríos will travel to meet with Dr. Keith Meister on March 17, the next step after recent MRIs showed a new type of inflammation in his right elbow.
Zack Wheeler and Orion Kerkering, Phillies
Wheeler (thoracic outlet decompression surgery) threw his fifth bullpen session on March 10 and is scheduled to throw his first live batting practice March 14.
Kerkering (Grade 1 right hamstring strain) is scheduled to throw a second live batting practice March 14. He threw his first March 10.
Josh Hader, Astros
Hader (left biceps tendinitis) will start the season on the injured list, manager Joe Espada told reporters on March 11.
Hunter Greene and Caleb Ferguson, Reds
Greene has bone chips and loose bodies in his right elbow and was scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery on March 11. With a timeline of 14-16 weeks, he's expected to be out until July.
Ferguson will start the season on the injured list due to a mild right oblique strain. He will not pitch for at least two weeks and will undergo a second MRI in Cincinnati after camp breaks.
Quinn Priester, Brewers
Priester (neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome) expressed optimism on March 13 about rejoining the Major League rotation within the first two months of the regular season, and he said he was relieved to finally have a firm diagnosis for the nagging pain in his right arm.
Joe Musgrove, Bryan Hoeing and Sung-Mun Song, Padres
Musgrove (Tommy John surgery) is being slow-played this spring, with manager Craig Stammen saying Musgrove was “in a little bit of a holding pattern” on March 12.
Hoeing will undergo surgery to repair the flexor tendon in his right elbow and will miss the 2026 season.
Stammen said March 12 that Song (right oblique tightness) was doing defensive drills and baserunning and that he was “probably getting close” to swinging the bat again.
Justin Steele, Cubs
Steele (left elbow surgery) threw 19 pitches in a live BP session on March 13.
Romy Gonzalez, Red Sox
Gonzalez was placed on the 60-day injured list March 12, meaning he will miss at least the first two months of the season. The Red Sox announced Gonzalez underwent an arthroscopic debridement procedure on his left shoulder.
Kyle Teel, White Sox
Teel suffered a right hamstring strain during Italy's World Baseball Classic game against the United States on March 10, White Sox general manager Chris Getz said March 11. He could be out 4-6 weeks.
Bryce Miller, Mariners
Miller (left side oblique inflammation) cut short his first full-effort bullpen session on March 11 due to discomfort in the area. He is still cleared to play catch and will attempt another touch-and-feel bullpen session in the March 14-15 range.
Blake Snell, Dodgers
Snell threw a light bullpen session for the first time this spring on March 12.
David Festa, Twins
Festa (right shoulder impingement) is progressing through workouts and has begun throwing a medicine ball with no issues. He hopes to resume throwing the week of March 16.
Hunter Gaddis, Guardians
Gaddis (right forearm tightness) threw off a mound in a touch-and-feel bullpen session on March 12.
Kyle Stowers and Adam Mazur, Marlins
Barring a setback, Stowers (right hamstring strain) is scheduled to start in the outfield on March 14.
Mazur (right elbow discomfort) underwent UCL reconstruction with an internal brace (hybrid) on March 11. The surgery has a recovery period of 13-14 months.
Ryan Mountcastle, Orioles
Mountcastle left the Orioles' March 11 game in the eighth inning after getting hit on the right hand by a pitch. X-rays were negative.
Josh Lowe, Angels
Lowe (left oblique discomfort) faced live pitching on March 11 and is near playing in Minor League games before making his return to Cactus League action.
