The world's newest (and perhaps biggest) Team England fan gained a whole lot of credibility on Sunday. If he keeps this up, Michael Harris II may be looking at an invitation to Buckingham Palace.
A few days after receiving every honor short of being knighted by the English soccer fans that took over Truist Park on Wednesday, Harris was unsurprisingly asked about the team's next match in the World Cup Round of 16 against Mexico. The Atlanta outfielder was not shy about giving his prediction in an interview with Men In Blazers, a football podcast and YouTube Show.
"I want to say England 3, Mexico 2," Harris said.
Well, what do you know? When the final whistle sounded late Sunday night, the box score read: England 3, Mexico 2.
It's safe to say Harris should be ready to break out the crystal ball again for England's quarterfinal matchup against Norway coming up on Saturday. If he goes 2-for-2, you may want to go ahead and get a jump on referring to him as Sir Michael Harris II.
